The spatial structure analysis of Chang Zhu Tan city cluster on the basis of The Theory of Organic Growth The Theory of Organic Growth has originally been a theory of Biology but it has been already used in study of Urban Planning This theory considered that there is similar way existed between the life forms and the cities and the urban agglomerations The way could be divided into four stages the Inoculation the Green Shoots the Development and the Mature As the time goes by the spatial structure of the cities and urban agglomerations will be change some but it would not departure from certain directions or scopes Those directions or scopes must be the inherent laws of organic growth of the cities and the urban agglomerations in fact To be honest the internal development mechanism of the cities and the urban agglomerations are actually more suitable optimized model for them In recent years with the accelerating of the industrialization and the urbanization the urban agglomerations have become the main forces of the urbanization of China Compared with the Megalopolis and the Metropolitan of foreign Countries the Chinese urban agglomeration has the obvious characteristics such as the ecological regions existing among the cities Urban rural division clearly the structures of functional classification existed in the urban agglomerations Under the impact of these characteristics there are relatively clear spatial structures existed in the Chinese urban agglomerations From the perspective of mine If we use the Organic Growth Theory of the urban agglomeration to research the formation development evolution influence of the spatial structure we can summarize the inherent laws of development of Chinese urban agglomeration accurately Take the Chang Zhu Tan city cluster for an instance it is located in the inland areas of China It also has been the important demonstration area of the construction of Resources saving and Environment Friendly Society of China From the 1980s to the 2010s the Chang Zhu Tan city cluster had suffered from the Inoculation the Green Shoots the Development and is stepping into the mature stage During these stages this cluster has showed an overall trend just like the organic theory had showed us The inoculation three cities of this city cluster is connectedly distributed in the lower reaches of Xiangjiang the distance between each city is less than 50km The Green Shoots from the 1980s some economist had came up with some ideal of the Chang Zhu Tan city cluster and had did some preliminary test and theoretical exploration The Development during the last decades ChangSha concentrated on the development of electronic information engineering and pharmaceuticals Zhuzhou has strived to developed the transport and communication facilities chemical raw material and so on and Xiangtan was endeavored to develop machinery manufacturing industry of fine chemicals Three main cities learn form the others strong points and close the gaps help the mutual promotion And the last one step The mature based on a recent research the Chang Zhu Tan city cluster had stepped into the Chinese future economy grows the 5th extremely As a third year student major at urban planning having finished some research on several points of the Chang Zhu Tan city cluster I have some personal perspective Firstly the Chang Zhu Tan city cluster grows as a polycentric model From the 1980s to the 2010s taking a overall view of growth of this city cluster eight cities suffered a high speed growth although there are still some disparities between each cities every city obeyed a order and no city develop itself in a overwhelming speed Although Changsha has a better basis of economic and others superiority it keep a restrictive relative gap and can never be a categorical leading one so take the nearly 30 years development in this city cluster into consideration I think this city cluster grow in a organic trend like polycentric model based on primary center subcenter and group center And restricted by this model no district can grow faster or slow than any other city Secondly growing with an inflation and Enclave type Inflation type city grows from the center to the countryside making the combination of the city and countryside into the city at the same time turning the countryside into the combination of city and countryside Enclave type city grows in a great leap forward model skipping the combination of the city and countryside and select the land in the countryside to construct Most cities in this city cluster take the model united by these two type it meanings when the city inflated the government can set up some new district and satellite city as tome goes by city is more inflating and take the initial area inside and set up new satellite city In this circulating type city is more and more broadening and more and more amplified at the same time I think this two combined type is propitious to the city clusters initial stage and the middle stage which is propitious to cultivate the competitive ability But it may produce some environmental and land cost and will be eventually be eliminated by the city cluster which has already stepped into the mature stage Thirdly the city cluster has little connection In the last three decades the Chang Zhu Tan city cluster has made great progress in town construction industry development economic growth and society progress But accounting of the policy and awareness and other reasons the Chang Zhu Tan city cluster has not shaped a integrated development and common progress On the spatial side most cities don t have an obvious interact On the industry choice side most cities always make their own overall planning and barely take the district interact into consideration even has some internal competition On the infrastructure layout the Chang Zhu Tan city cluster has made some modern traffic net based on high speed railway freeway traffic air traffic and so on But excepted from the Changsha Zhuzhou Xiangtan other cities don t have a virtually infrastructure sharing mechanism most cities still relay on the national
