1 Unit2 Topic1 Section A 1a 1b Teaching Plan Tieshu School Zhao Longling I Analysis of the Teaching Materials 1a is the first period of Section A Learning it well is the premise of learning this section The topic of this lesson is about illnesses According to the Junior School English Syllabus it is aimed at developing the ability to ask about illnesses of patients and give proper advice Such a topic is closely related to the students real life and therefore it s helpful to arouse the students learning interest and improve their abilities of communication Analysis of the Students Most students in Grade Eight are lively and emulative During the course of teaching many tasks are designed to encourage the students to take part in the activities Through various cooperative activities the students having trouble in learning English can get more chances and the teacher should provide as many chances to practice as possible In the process students will learn from each other help each other and develop cooperative spirit Teaching Aims 1 Knowledge goals a Key vocabularies Headache toothache flu sore stomachache fever backache dentist cough tea coffee plenty of boiled water b New Lead to Topic One of Unit Two You d better go to see a doctor Step Three Presentation 1 Present the new words and phrases by using body language 2 Show the new words and phrases on the screen And backache What s wrong with them They have a stomachache 2 Pair work Show the Ss eight pictures of patients on the screen Encourage the Ss to ask and answer with the patterns Ss will be divided into several groups and then discuss with each other Each group will choose a student to show the others the result of the discussion 3 Listening practice Listen to the tape and answer 1 What s wrong with Various activities are designed to get the Ss to take an active part in them such as the chant Though the activities most of the Ss can master the language point
