Instructional design Name Xu Wei 许伟 Grade Grade 7 Subject How do you get to school Section A 2a 2e Lesson type Listening and speaking Teaching time 45minutes Overall Design and Guiding Principle According to the curriculum and the students I design the teaching plan as follows 1 Teaching objectives Knowledge objectives 1 To master and use some key words such as minute hundred far new etc 2 Enable students to use how questions to talk about going to some places 3 To master the usage of how long how far Ability objectives 1 Enable the students to improve their spoken English 2 To develop some skills of listening Emotion objectives 1 To build students confidence in learning English 2 Enable students to be active and cooperative in team work enjoy learning English 2 Key points and difficult points Key points 1 Key words number minute usually etc 2 Sentence structure How do you does she he get to How long does it take It takes How far is it from A to B 3 Develop some listening skills Difficult points 1 To get the correct information from the listening material 2 Be able to use how how long how far to talk about transportation Time and distance 3 Teaching methods 1 Communicative Language Teaching method 2 Task based teaching method 3 Computer assisted Instruction 4 Teaching aids Text book power point tape recorder blackboard 5 Teaching procedure Step1 Revision Show students pictures of some famous people on PPT and ask How do you get to How does she he get to Purpose to review how to talk about getting to places Step2 Lead in and listen2a First review cardinal numbers then ask students to listen to the tape and finish 2a Check answers and play the tape again ask them to listen carefully Purpose this task is to review cardinal numbers and practice students listening ability Step3 Pre listening for 2b Lead the students to learn the meaning and usage of how long how far by showing some pictures in PPT Ask students to look at the chart and guess what the conversation may talk about Purpose To set up a scene in student s mind before listening so it will be easier for them to listen this is also a kind of listening skill prediction Step4 Extensive listening 1 Ask students to listen to the tape just try to understand the material and write down some notes 2 Play the tape again and ask the students to finish the chart in 2b 3 Check answers 4 Listen again together and explain important sentences Purpose To develop students listening ability and let them master how to ask transportation time and distance Step5 Practice 2d Lead the students to make conversations with their partners by showing them models During discussing I ll walk around and give help to some students Purpose to practice spoken English Step6 Role play 2e Let the students read the dialogue in role and answer questions I listed in PPT Then we ll learn this conversation together Purpos
