Elicit new words like the post office, bank, restaurant, payphone, etc. and prepositional phrases. III Drill1. Work in pairs. Talk about buildings near the school. Use sentence structure:Where is/are; It is/They are on/next to/across from/behind/in front of.; Is/Are.on/next to/across from the.? Yes, it is/No, it isnt.Consolidate prepositional phrases and sentence patterns in forms of pair work2. Ask students to look at the pictures in activity 1a on page 43. Ask them to match the right places with the words. Ask them to talk about the places with the sentence pattern: -Is there anear here? Ill help them to look at the map and answer: -Yes, there is. It is on_ Street.IVListening1. Ask students to finish activity 2a, and then check answers by asking question: “Where is the pay phone?” Make Ss describe the places with the prepositions.2. Listen:Fill in the blanks with the words in the box in 2b. Then, check the answer. Listen again if needed. 3. Ask students to check the answer with complete sentences. Get Ss learn to listen for key phrases. VProduction1. Ask students to make their own conversations. Ask them to look at the picture in 1a, tell them, “Imagine you will find a place, make a simple conversation to ask and give directions according to the picture”. 2. As they do this, the teacher may walk around and give them help if necessary. Then, as they have done, ask them to perform their conversations.
