Revision Read the new words in this text.2. Lead-in (1)Which nutrients does the food contain? The six essential nutrients:1. Protein 2. Carbohydrates 3. Fat 4. Vitamins 5. Minerals 6. Water(2)Get to know some food names: (Give some pictures of food on the blackboard.)(3) Let the Ss decide what is health food and why these are health food while those are junk food.Healthy food: Gives us the calories we need but not contain too much fat and sugar.Junk food: Has a lot of calories but few nutrients, vitamins and minerals.Step II. Speaking(1) Ask the students to make up a dialogue in pairs using the following useful words and structures. Useful words: fat, sugar, vitamin, protein, fibre, mineral Useful structures: has/have/contain(s) I think that is junk/healthy food because it/they is/are high/rich in is/are low/poor inThey can begin like this:A: Which of these groups of food do you like best?/ Which of them do you eat most often?B: French fries(炸薯条)/hamburgers/ ice cream/ vegetables /oranges / eggsA: Why do you like it?B: Because it is delicious / good for me/ fast foodA: Do you think they are health food or junk food? Detailed reading Read the text carefully and finish Ex 1 in Comprehending.4. Compare Wangs to Yongs menu, then finish Ex 2 in Comprehending. (If time is not permitted. leave it as homework.)Step IV. Homework1. Ex 3 on page12. 2. Work in groups of five. Design a menu.Miss Chen is going to invite some of her colleagues to have dinner with her at home. Please design a menu which contains six dishes and one soup for her and explain the advantages of the menu. And then the whole class compare these menus and decide which one is better balanced and why. (Do it by words or maybe by drawing pictures) 3. Find out the following sentences in the text.
