Part A Lets learn&Look and say)Teaching goals:Knowledge goals:1.Students can master the four-skilled phrases: doing morning exercises,having.class,eating lunch,reading a book,listening to music.2.Students can listen,say and read the key sentences“What is/are .doing?”“. is/are .”Ability goals:1.Students can use the sentence structures“What is/are .doing?”“. is/are .”to ask or express things others or they are doing in a real situation.2. Students can improve their oral English ability and language organizational competence.3. Students can think positively ,innovate boldly and improve the independent learning ability and cooperative ability.Key points:1.Students can master the four-skilled phrases: doing morning exercises,having.class,eating lunch,reading a book,listening to music.2.Students can use the key sentence structures“What is/are .doing?”“. is/are .”to communicate with others in a real situation.Difficult points: Students can make a new dialogue about things others or they are doing and can act it out boldly.Teaching aids: Multimedia, word cards, courseware.Teaching procedures:Step1 Warming up1. Greetings.2.Listen, sing and do. T: Please stand up! Listen to the music ,sing the song and do the actions. Here we go!Step2 presentation1.Lead-inT shows a cartoon picture of Mcdull, a lovely pig ,and guides students to meet him together. Then leads students to know about Mcdulls day.2.T shows a clock on the screen and asks: What is the time? Ss: Its 6 oclock a.m. T: What is Mcdull doing at 6oclock a.m.? T plays the music of broadcast gymnastics and leads Ss to learn the phrases “doing morning exercises” .3.T shows a clock, plays a beautiful music with a picture of Mcdull with his classmates and music teacher. Then presents the two phrases “having.class” and“listening to music”. Ss read them after the tape and T.4.T shows a clock and another picture , teaching “eating lunch” .5.T show a clock and part of a picture. Ss look at it and guess what Mcdull is doing at 3 oclock p.m. Then presents the phrase “reading a book”.Step3 Practice1.Find the best actor or actress.T invites four students to the front to do the actions by looking at the word cards ,and the other students say the relevant phrases or sentences. After that, T selects the best actor with Ss.Step4 Return to the text.1.Ss talk about Chen Jies day on the textbook and then read after the tape. 2.Ss read the phrases together and role play the small dialogue.Step5 Consolidation1.Ss look at the pictures on the part of “Look and say”and say something about them with partners. Then T invites some Ss to say some sentences using “.is/are.”.2. T plays a video “what are you doing?”. Ss watch it carefully and then tell what the animals are doing? S1:The bear is eating.S2:The swan is swimming.Step6 Homework1.Write the five phrases 5 times on your exercise book.2.Read “Lets learn” after the tape.3.Write about your day using the sentence “I am_at _.”Blackboard design Unit6 Work
