Study situation The students in the class have learned English for several years. Some of them are interested in English. Several students are good at it. Some dont like it at all and even like talking freely with other students in class. Few students want to speak English aloud. No one wants to answer questions individually actively. They do like join activities in chorus. Its difficult to get them to work in pairs or in groups.V. Teaching aids:ppt, listening materials and a blackboard.VI. Teaching procedures: Step1 OrganizationSs: Good morning / afternoon, Ms Jiang. T: Good morning / afternoon, class. Sit down, please. Is everyone here today?Step 2 Warming-upT: What tense should we use when we talk about past tense?Ss: 一般过去时态。T: Well, how will the verbs be changed?Ss: 动词要用过去式。T: Then lets finish the task first. Please change the verbs into past ones. Id like two students to write down your answers on the blackboard. Who would like to be the volunteers?Step 3 Speaking1. Look at the pictures and answer the question What did you do last Sunday?.2. Look at the pictures and work in pairs. Ask like this: What did they do on last school trip? What did he do on last school trip? What did she do on last school trip?3. Then one pair act out their conversations about three pictures. The others listen to them carefully and repeat the conversations. 4. Look and fill in the blanks. Then read aloud.5. 1a Get the students to match the phrases with the pictures individually. Then ask them the questions What did Carol do in Picture a /b/c/d/e/f?. Check the answers to 1a.Step 4 Listening1b Listen and circle the three things Carol did on her school trip in 1a.First, get the students to listen and circle. If they cant get their answers by listening once, let them listen again and again. Then check the answer to 1b. Ask one student to answer What did Carol do on her school trip? And ask the other students if they agree with his or her answer. After that listen and repeat. And act out the conversation. Last, read and understand the conversation.Step 5 Speaking and writing1. Ask and answer questions about Carols school trip. A: Did Carol go for a walk? B: _, _ _.2. Suppose you are Carol. Then according to the information above that we just learned about, first, orally tell your classmates about your school trip yesterday.
