Most students have mastered how to use the superlatives correctly after learning Section A. In section B, all the tasks are based on the topic “talent show”. It is related to students daily life. So I think it can raise their learning interests and improve their listening and spoken English . 二、 Teaching aims 教学目标1. Knowledge aim: (1) To make students know the new words and the targetsentences. Such as creative, performer(2) The students should know how to use the superlatives to talk about the talent show. 2. Ability aim: (1) Students can talk about the talent show by listening.(2) Students can use the superlatives to make conversations.3. Affection aim: (1) To make students learn how to work with others.(2) Lead students to have a good habit of enjoying shows. 三、 Teaching key points and difficult points(教学重难点)Key points:Practice more superlatives while talking about the talent show.Difficult points: 1. Take notes while listening. 2. Use the superlatives to talk about the things.Analysis of students学情分析1. Students in Grade 8 have learned many adjectives to describe things and people. But they dont often use English to express themselves or communicate with others. Some students are not active in class.2. They like to show themselves. Talk about the questions.eg. 1. Who is the tallest person in our class?2.Who is the loudest person in our class?Purpose: To practice the superlatives they learned. To make students interested in this lesson.Step 2 presentation 1a.Present the chart, write the words and phrases in the chart.Get students practice more if they can do better.1b. Let students read the conversation. Then work in pairs and make conversation with partner. Purpose: Practice more adjectives. Prepare for listening.Step 3 listening Before listening 1. Show the picture and ask students to answer:(1) Where are they? Ss: They are in the school talent show.(2) Who are they? Ss: They are performers.(3) What are their names? (help Ss know the names)2. Ask students to look at the pictures and describe the pictures. Purpose: Teach students to get the information from the picture, it helps make the listening easier for students. While listening 1b Listen and match the pictures with the performers. Then check the answers. 1c. listen again. What do people say about the performers? Fill in the chart with the adjectives you hear. (write the first syllable while listening) Check the answers after listening. Then listen and repeat for pronunciation and intonation. Step 4 work on 1e1. Pair work . Make conversations according to the chart in 1d. A: Who was the best performer?B: Eliza was the best performer.2. Group work. Talk about the classmates in the school talent show. Homework: Interview your family members, learn about their talent show. Write a short report about it. You can hold a new year talent show. eg. My father sings the best, he is the best singer in my family. My mother dances the most beautifully. She is the best dancer.
