Show Ss some picures about Australia to let them know which country were going to talk about.2. Ask Ss to predict what the passage talks about according to the title My First Ride on a Train and the pictures about Australia.StepReading1. SkimmingAsk the students to read through the passage quickly and find out the main idea of the passage.2. Scanning(T: There are 6 paragraphs in the text. And we can divide it into two parts. One is about My Journey, the other is The Development of Transportation. ) Ask the students to read through the passage once again and decide which paragraphs belong to My Journy, which ones belong to The Development of Transportation. While the students reading, the teacher can help them find out the topic sentence in each paragraph.3. Careful reading(1) Ask Ss to read paragraph1 and complete the multiple choice on their own.
