Unit3 What were you doing when the UFO arrived?Section A 1a-1c所用教科书书名人教版英语 新目标 (Go for it!)教材年级八年级教材册次单元八年级英语下册第三单元设计主题教学中多媒体的应用以及小组活动激发学生学习兴趣和热爱科学,热爱生活,探索未来的热情,使学生学会用过去进行时态叙述过去正在发生的事情,提高学生口语表达能力。1、整体设计思路、指导依据说明本册书采用任务型语言教学模式,融汇话题,交际能力和语言结构。教学中注重发挥学生为主体地位和教师的指导作用。因此教学中我注重各种学生活动的设计,充分调动学生的积极性和主动性。让学生在教师的指导下,通过参与和合作等方式,营造积极,和谐,活跃的教学氛围,激发学生的学习英语兴趣和提高学生英语听,说,读,写的能力。尤其是听力技能口语表达能力。让学生课前通过百度观看影片E.T.外星人,以及教学中利用多媒体播放外星人和UFO的图片和相关资料导入新课,提高学生的注意力,引起学生学习的兴趣。新课讲授中,充分运用听力练习和结对练习活动,培养学生的听力能力,口语表达能力和合作能力。2、教学背景分析教学内容分析:本单元教学以“What were you doing when the UFO arrived?” 导入,谈论的话题是“谈论过去的事情”,围绕这一话题设计了相关的语言情景。本单元分七个课时完成,此教案(Section A 1a-1c)为第一课时,通过UFO这个学生感兴趣的话题,引出本单元重点语法过去进行时,学习when 引导的时间状语从句。通过本节课的学习,使学生能用过去进行时态叙述过去发生的事情,提高学生的口语表达能力,激发了学生热爱科学、热爱生活、探索未来的热情。学生情况分析:农村大多数学生英语基础较差,自我控制能力不强,程度参差不齐。初二学生经过小学和初中一年半的学习,大多数学生掌握了一定的英语学习规律和英语语法知识,并具备一定的英语词汇量。同时大多数学生能用所学英语语法知识和句型表达自己的观点。3、教学目标分析根据本课教材特点和新课程标准,本课教学目标设计如下:一. 知识与技能1.Key vocabulary:UFO, barber,bathroom,bedroom, kitchen,get out2.Key structures:What were you doing when the UFO arrived?I was standing in front of the library.3. Listening practice. 4. Train students ability of telling a story.5.Develop students listening, speaking, reading and writing abilities.二. 过程与方法Employ Task-based teaching mode, and get the students to learn basic sentence patterns by listening and practice.三.情感,态度与价值观Arouse the students motivation and interest in learning English and guide them to love nature and social science. Alien. Ask questions about the pictures with student.T: Whats this in the picture1?Ss: Its E.T. Alien.T: Do you like the movie E.T. Alien.?Whats the movie about?Ss: Yes, its about a boy and alien T: Whats the alien like?Ss: Big eyes, small nose, no hair T: Do you like him ?Ss: YesT: What are these in the picture2?Ss:They are UFOs.T: Do you know something about UFOs?Ss:( Introduce some information about UFO)UFO全称为不明飞行物,也称飞碟(unidentified flying object,简称UFO)是指不明来历、不明空间、不明结构、不明性质,但又漂浮、飞行在空中的物体。一些人相信它是来自其他行星的太空船,有些人则认为UFO属于自然现象。20世纪40年代开始,美国上空发现碟状飞行物,当时称为“飞碟,这是当代对不明飞行物的兴趣的开端,后来人们着眼于世界各地的不明飞行物报告,但至今尚未发现确实可信的证据。许多不明飞行物照片经专家鉴定为骗局,有的则被认为是球状闪电,但始终有部分发现根据现存科学知识无法解释。设计意图:通过问候以及提出一些问题和学生一起看图讨论外星人和飞碟,导入新课,吸引学生的注意力,并且调动学生的学习兴趣。步骤2 New WordsShow the new words on the screen. Teach the new words. Read the new words and ask students to repeat.(UFO,barber, bathroom, bedroom, kitchen, get out)设计意图:通过学习新单词,帮助学生更好地学习和理解本节课接下来的内容。步骤3 PresentationAsk students to look at the picture on Page18, ask questions about it.T: What can you see in the picture?Ss: UFO, an alien, tall buildings, some people T: Can you guess what they were doing when the UFO arrived?S1: She was cooking.S2: He was taking a bath (Write the sentences on the blackboard)Read and explain the six sentences in 1a, ask the students to matchthe statements with the people in the picture.Check the answers. 设计意图:引导学生看图讨论完成学习任务,使学生直观了解UFO以及过去进行时的句型及用法。步骤4 Listening practice Section A 1bRead the instruction. Let students look at the picture on Page18 and listen.Play the recording twice and ask students to circle correct responses.Check the answers.Play the recording again. Pause after every sentence and ask students to translate each sentence into Chinese.Play the recording without pausing. 设计意图:引导学生看图及播放录音时的停顿,帮助学生更好地完成听力练习,通过1b的听力练习,提高学生的听力技能。同时巩固过去进行时的用法步骤5 Pair work Section A 1cAsk two students to read the sample dialogue to the class.Ask students to work in pairs. Move around the classroom and offer some help when needed.Ask some pairs to present their dialogue to the class.Summarize the use of the Past Continuous tense. 过去进行时定义:表示在过去某一时刻或某一段时间内正在进行的动作。构成结构:肯定形式:主语+was/were +doing.否定形式:主语+was not(wasnt)/were not(werent)+doing.一般疑问句形式: Was/Were+主语+ doing?特殊疑问句形式:特殊疑问词+was/were +主语+doing? 设计意图:引导学生结对活动及总结语法,提高学生的合作能力和口语表达能力。及进一步巩固过去进行时的用法。步骤6 SummaryT: Today weve learnt some new things about UFO and aliens.
