Lead-inT:( Show some pictures.) In China, there are many traditional stories, do you what they are ? Ss: Yes. 西游记,哪吒闹海,T:Do you know how to say them in English ?(Show the pictures one by one )Please read after me : Journey to the West, Na Zha Conquers the Dragon King,T:Well done. In this class,we will learn how to tell stories. Step3 Presentation1、Teach Activity 1a.T:First, have a look at the pictures in 1a;Next, read the story titles in it;Finally, match the story titles with the pictures.(Give Ss several minutes to do it.)Lets check the answers.Read the story titles together.T:Today well learn a story of them. Now lets watch a video.(Play a video )2、Teach Activity 1bT:Were going to listen to a conversation between Anna and Wang Ming . They are talking about a story. Listen carefully, and answer my question : Which story are they talking about ?Then check the facts in 1b.Now read the sentences in 1b together .Then, listen carefully, check the sentences.Later,check the answers together.3、Teach Activity 1c.T:Now we learned about the story Yu Gong Moves a Mountain, look at the questions in the box in 1c:How does the story begin ?What happened next ?Where would they put all the earth and stone from the mountains ?You need to work in pairs to discuss them ,Ill invite some of you to retell the story .Clear ?Do it now!(Give students several minutes to do this task.As they work,move around the room checking the progress and offering language support as needed.)(Finally,invite several volunteers to answer the question and retell the story. Praise the students who does best.)Step4 Practice1、Teach Activity 2a.T:Do you want to know the rest of the story ?S:Yes. T:First, look at the pictures in 2a; Then, listen and number the pictures(1-4) in order to tell the story; Next, listen carefully, find the answers.Lets check the answers together.2、Teach Activity 2b.T:Look at 2b,there are five sentences in it . You have to listen to the recording again to check the words you hear and complete the sentences. First,have a quick look at the sentences.(Give students two minutes to get familiar with the sentences.)Then play the tape for them to listen.Play it one more time to check the answers.Finally,invite some students to read their sentences to check the answers. Correct mistakes if any. Step5 Language points:1. remind sb. of /about sth.remind sb. to do sth.2. keep on doing sth.3. continue to do sth./ continue doing sth.4. work on doing sth.Step6 Show time Finish Activity 2cT: Have a look at the pictures in 2a again. Now, work in pairs to tell the rest of the story in your own words. Later, Ill invite some of you to present your work for the whole class.(As students work, move around the room checking the progress.)Finally, invite some students to tell the stories. Step 6.
