Unit 7 Section A Its rainingPart1 Analysis of the Teaching Material 1.After learning the present progressive tense ,the topic of this Unit is describe the weather, so student will talk about what they are doing when different weather.2.This lesson is the first one of Unit 7.So if the Ss can learn it well, it will be helpful to make the Ss learn the rest of this unit. Part 2 Teaching Aims 1. Aims of Basic Knowledge (1) To study the new words .”, etc. by learning the dialogue of this lesson. (2) To make the Ss know how to describe the feeling when different weather .2.Ability Goals(1) To enable the Ss to study in groups and cooperate skillfully. (2) To develop the Ss abilities of communication by learning the useful structures. (3)To develop the students abilities of listening ,speaking, reading and writing. 3.Aims of Emotion Through this class learning, so that students realize the importance of teamwork and the differences between Chinese culture and foreign culture. Part 3 Teaching Key And Difficult PointsThe teaching key and difficult points basis is established according to Section A of Unit7 in the teaching materials position and function. 1.Key points: Learn some new words about weather and cities,and learn how to describe what they are doing in different weather2.Difficult points: (1) How to make dialogues and act them out. (2) How to work as a weather reporter Teaching AidsSome pictures about weather and different cities ,Tape recorder, PPT and so on. They will be needed in this lesson. Part 4: Analysis of the teaching methods.As we all know, the main aims of learning English in Middle school is to cultivate the students abilities of listening, reading, speaking and writing. So I use the“communicative” teaching method, “situational ”teaching method and “task-based” teaching method. That is to say, I will let the students get the better understanding of the key structures of the dialogue. Ill give the students some tasks and arrange three kinds of activities: play a guessing games, listen to a music then answer and give a weather reaport then have a competitionPart 5 Teaching Procedure Ill finish this lesson in three tasks. Task One: Recognizing the cities and different weather .First Ill divide the Ss into two teams,boys team and girls team and bring a competition into the class. At last lets see which group is the winner. Step 1 warming upIts time to PK 1 ,have a guessing competition.Show a picture and help students answer following questions设计思路:Purpose of my designingTeachers should grasp studentscuri osity to guide the students to look at the picture by designing questions.and provide the chance for students to speak English as much as possible.Step 2 Lead in and Presentation important words and structure. This course is very important. Ill mainly talk about this step. First Ill let the students Students show some pictures that they have collected and talk about different countries and cities:Toronto , New York, Tokyo ,Paris, London ”and so on, And then present two new cities :Boston , MoscowThen I ask student :”Do you like travel around the world? If you do,What will you think about before traveling? Then write down the new words “ weather ” and new sentences “Hows the weather?” on the blackboard.Next teacher use pictures with sound to teach new words :sunny cloudy windy rainy snowy Ill write the key points on the Bb while they are watching. After watching, Ill teach them to read the words and sentences on the Bb. Make sure they can read them well. 设计思路:Purpose of my designingI think CAI can provide a real situation with its sound and picture ,and it is much easier for the Ss to learn and grasp the meanings.Task Two:Talk about weather in different citiesStep Four Listen to a song and answer questions (PK2) 1.How many weather can you hear?2.When its sunny,what do you want to do?3.Hows the weather in the last picture?4.When its rainy,what is the worm taking? 设计思路:Purpose of my designingI think making students listen to a song with questions ,and make them think positively while they are listening ,not only create a relaxing studying environment.,but also cultivatee students attention and obser vation.Step Five Pairwork. Ask students to work in pairs. Then, get some pairs to act their conversations out. 设计思路:Purpose of my designingIn this step,let the Ss have a chance to practise their listening and spoken ability. It can develop the students ability of communication and cooperation. if the students can finish the task well, they will benefit a lot in their spoken English. Task Three: Give a weather reportStep Six Let students act as a weather reporter.In this step Ill give the Ss a free space to show their abilities. First Ill give a model Hello, everyone! Im a weather reporter.Today is Monday ,April 15th. Beijing is sunny, Moscow is snowy Thank you for listening, have a good time .bye!Then let students do this job with CCTV weather background music , so that I can provide a real situation .Step Seven A competition between teams(PK 3)Imagine you are a famous star and describe what you are doing when different weather as much as possible in two minutes, find out which group will make more sentences. Purpose of my designing: I think proper competition can arouse the students interest in English learning ,and imagine themselves as their worship w:ip of celebrity silebriti is a happy thing, and it makes the class atmosphere active, it can also train their spirit of unity and cooperation . Step Eight Give each group an assessment Acorrding to three PKs,lets see which team is the winner? At the same time , Ill give them some small gifts as a prize.Step Nine Because of some disater climate ,people cant live a normal life. so Ill let Ss watch a video about disater climateTsunami. Volcanic explosion,flood,drought,earthquake,sandstorm After watching ,I want to let students understand: Its our duty to protect the environment .Tell the Ss :we should take good care of our earth. We should love our earth Purpose of my designing:After students master the information and learning tasks together, teachers should expand knowledge effectively , Inspire students to think.their usual Summary by asking students to check the knowledge that Ss have learned in this lesson. Assign homeworkWrite a report about what your family / friends likes doing on different weathers. I think It
