Unit12 Life is full of the unexpected. (SectionA1a-2c) 大唐镇中 郭丹霞一、 单元分析本单元围绕“bad days”这一话题展开教学活动,运用“By the time, sb had already done”句型谈论发生在身边的令人尴尬或难忘的事情,学习和巩固过去完成时态。本单元的核心语言项目是“Narrate past events”,教材编排紧紧围绕过去完成时态,通过一系列听、说、读、写训练,加深学生对过去完成时态的理解。学生在学习和运用过去完成时态的过程中,进一步掌握动词的过去式和过去分词的变化规则,辨析现在完成时和过去完成时的用法,最终达到将目标语言运用于真实情境的目的。二、 学情分析学生已经学习了一般过去时态和现在完成时态,具备了一定的语言基础。本单元的语法重点将在分享难忘经历的话题中展开,并且在潜移默化中得到强化,使学生能够真正在用中学、在学中用。三、 教学目标Language goals:1. Words & expressions:Oversleep, go off, ring, rush, run off, on time, by the time, gotten.2. Key sentences:By the time I got outside, the bus had already left.By the time I got up, my brother had already gotten in the shower.When I got to school, I realized I had left my backpack at home.Ability goals:Enable the Ss to understand and talk about past events by using Past Perfect tense.Emotion & attitude goals:The whole days work depends on the plan in the morning.Strategy goals:To understand the target language by reading pictures.Teaching important points:Learn to use Past Perfect tense.Teaching procedures and ways:Step1: Greetings.T: Hello, boys and girls. Lets begin our class, ok?Ss: Ok.T: Good.Step2: Lets chant.T: In this class, we will learn “Unit 12 Life is full of the unexpected (SectionA1a-2c).”Lets chant first. (师演示一两句,然后让学生们一起chant, 最后男孩女孩各自chant, 让学生通过竞争鼓励他们。)此环节一方面营造轻松愉快的英语课堂氛围,另一方面先回顾下本单元要用到的动词的过去式及过去分词。Step3: Free talk and Presentation.1. Ss answer questions.(问3-5个学生)What do you usually do in the morning before school?Do you like mornings? Why or why not?2. Remember a beautiful sentence.T: I like mornings. Because. Lets remember this good sentence.The whole days work depends on the plan in the morning.3. Talk about my busy morning. Present Past Perfect tense.T: So I have a busy morning. Lets read my busy morning. (When reading, fill in the blanks.)So now you know what I did this morning. What did I do this morning? At 5:30, I .Ss: You got up.Ask a group to answer the questions. (Do the chainwork.)T: So when I brushed my teeth, I had gotten up. Here “when” means “by the time”. By the time I brushed my teeth, I had gotten up.Ask Ss to read the two sentences.此环节渗透情感教育,让学生学会合理安排时间,养成良好的习惯,增强做事的计划性。然后通过自由交谈复习起床后的各种活动,呈现过去完成时态与一般过去时态。Step4: Listening. (1a, 1b)1. Look at five pictures. Talk about Tinas morning.T: Now you know my morning. What do you think of my morning?- -I had a busy morning.Next lets see our friend Tinas morning. Look at the pictures. Think about: How was Tinas morning? Was it busy/great/? Tina had a bad/terrible morning. What happened to her?Picture1: The alarm clock didnt go off/ring, so Tina got up later than usual. Thats to say, she overslept/slept for a long time. What should she do then? She should jump out of the bed as quickly as she can. She should brush her teeth, wash her face, maybe take a shower. (oversleep-overslept-overslept)Picture2: So she went to the bathroom. But when she got there, there was someone taking a shower. By the time she got up, her brother had already gotten in the shower. So she should wait for him to go out. (get-got-gotten)Picture3: Then she took a shower and got dressed. But by the time she got outside, the bus had already left. She missed/didnt catch the bus. (leave-left-left, catch-caught-caught)Picture4: She rushed to school. /She ran to school as quickly as she could. (run-ran-run)Picture5: However, by the time she got to school, she realized that she had left her backpack at home.2. Listen to 1b. Tina is talking about her morning. Lets help her complete the sentences. Go through the sentences first.3. Read after the tape and explain the key points.通过听力训练,进一步熟悉过去完成时态的结构,学会辨别两个动作发生的先后关系和在表述时的时态差别。讲解过去完成时态的构成和用法,总结语法规律。通过跟读增强语感,为下一步的讨论打下基础。Step5: Listening. (2a, 2b)1. Guess: What would happen after Tina got to school?2. Look at four pictures carefully. Then listen to 2a. Number the pictures in the correct order.3. Finish2b. Then listen to the tape and check the answers.4. Read after the tape and explain the key points.通过听力训练,充分理解文本,为下面的语言运用打下基础。另外,让学生注意动词的过去分词,特别是不规则动词的变化。Step6: Retell the story and Pairwork.
