The main topic of this module is“What are you doing?”And the students are supposed to master the structure of the Present Progressive Tense. The topic is related to our daily life, so it is helpful for students to arouse their interests of learning English. 2. Teaching tools:blackboard, pictures,PPT, tape recorder6.Teaching procedures:The First Period(1a-2b)Step1 GreetingsGreet students as usual.Step2 Lead inPlay a song “what are you doing” for students.(T: Before the class, lets enjoy a song. For the first time, you just listen; The second time, you should sing the song together. )设计意图:用歌曲导入课题,吸引学生注意力,提高学生学习兴趣。Step3 New wordsa. Show some pictures on the screen, and ask students“What is he/she doing?/What are they doing?”Help students answer like this:“He/She is ./They are.(cleaning, using the computer, listening to a CD, talking on the phone, etc.)(The questions can be also asked by the students, and other students answer, practice them in different ways) b.Write the words and phrases on the blackboard at the same time.c.Read the phrases together.设计意图:用图片引导学生说出新单词短语,通过不同的体温方式,鼓励学生做出正确回答,为下面的知识输出打下伏笔。Step4. Presentationa.Write the sentences“What is he/she doing? He/She is.”on the blackboard.b.Play a game. ( 5 students in a row, T choose a phrase, the first student act it out to the second student, other students do the same things, and the last students should guess“what is he/she doing”) 设计意图:以学生为中心,进一步鼓励学生在游戏中练习新句型,调动学生的参与热情,将课堂教学成为一个师生共同学习创造的过程。c.1aLet students match the activities with the pictures, then check the answers.设计意图:通过适当的练习,检测学生对单词短语掌握的熟练程度。Step5 Pair worka. Have students ask and answer questions what people are doing in 1a. The dialogue may like this:A:Whats he doing?B:Hes using the computer.A:What are they doing?B:Theyre listening to a CD.b. Invite several pairs to act it in front of the class. 设计意图:让学生创造真实的情境,锻炼学生合作意识,也能检验学生学习情况,提高学生英语口语能力。Step6 Listeninga.Play the recording, for the first time, students just listen.b.Play the recording again, this time students should write the numbers from 1a.c.Check the answers.d.Read the conversation after the tape sentence by sentence.设计意图:锻炼提升学生英语听力能力。Step 7 PracticeDo a guessing game. Look at the screen, and guess what people are doing.设计意图:将图片遮盖住一部分,让学生猜测他们正在做什么,唤起学生的好奇心,使其积极参与到活动中来,进而巩固本课时目标语言。Step 8 2a&2ba. Pay attention to the instruction to know what we should do in this part.b. Play the recording. The first time, students just listen; the second time. Students should match the answers with the questions.c. Play the recording again, students should fill in the blanks.d. Check the answers.e.
