Teaching difficult point:Develop students listening skills.Teaching Procedures. Warming up and Revision 1. Lead-in(1) Daily greetings. (2) Revision. Check the words about animals, such as nationality, descriptive words and so on. . PresentationListening (Activity 1b & 1c)Work on 1b:1. T: Now I will play a recording of a conversation between Tony and Maria. You must listen to it carefully and circle the description words you hear. 2. Play the recording again for the students to check the answers. Work on 1c: (1) Call students attention to the three headings: Animal, Marias Words and Tonys Words to help students to understand what they should do.(2) Now I will play the recording again. This time please write down they say about each animal. Fill in the chart individually.(3) Check the answers and learn the listening material together. ConsolidationActivity 1d1. Pair workFirst, lead students to read the sample conversation and know how to talk about animals someone likes and doesnt like. Then we have a chat about this language point.Put students into pairs to chat about animals they like and dont like, and tell the reasons. Summary In this period, weve learnt some adjectives to describe different animals. At first we reviewed the names of the animals by identifying the pictures. Then we learnt the adjectives by using them to describe these animals. And weve consolidated these adjectives by doing some listening and speaking practice. At last, we made conversation to talk about the animals. And we have learned to love animals and protect them. Homework 1. Remember the new words and expressions learned in this period. 2.
