Lead-in1. Play a video where a girl is singing.T:Tell me who is she? What does she do?S:She is a singer.T:Also we can say she is a pop star.T:Is she very famous.S:Yes.T:She is very famous right now, right?T:Did she used to be very famous many years ago?So she has a lot of changes .T:Today we will learn an article about a modern girl called Candy Wang.she is also a pop star.Step II. Check the preparation.T:(Check the students preparation by testing the pronunciation and spelling of the new words.) Step III. Pre-readingT:Next lets turn to page 27. Look at 3a. Read the tittle together.S:From shy girl to be a pop star.T:Sometimes we can get some information from the title,right? T:What did she used to be like?S:She used to be a shy .T:What music does she like?S:Pop music.T:What is the article about?Step IV. While-readingT:When we get the meaning of the article,then we will read the article.1. Skimming : T:Read 3a very quickly and try to find the main idea of each paragraph.(Tell the students they can find the main idea usually in the first paragraph or the last paragraph.)S: (Read the article quickly.)T:(Check the anwer.)2. Scanning :T: Read paragragh 1 and answer the questions on the sceen.(1)How old is Candy Wang? (2)What did she use to like? (3)Why did she take up singing?Ask the students to answer it then check them. T:Read paragragh 2 and circle the good things,underline the bad things on the book.(Check the answer.)T:Read the third paragraph and judge the sentences true or false.(1).You have to give up your normal life if you want to be famous.(2).Candy has never thought about giving up.(3).Many people can it to the top.(Check the answer) 3.
