January is the first month of a new year.教学方法Listening ,talking and practice教学过程 Step1: Presentation1.自主学习 个性修改2.Listen to the different voices of the animals, then guess what animals they are And in this period they may show great interest, at this time, ask the students to teach the words to the other students.S1: What is it? Ss: What is it? S1 : It is a Ss : It is a Step2 Listening:Listen to the tape and circle the correct pictures (Lets Do It! Part1).Step2:Languange pointsAsk the students to sum up the rules of change of the verbs. Thenshow the rules on the screen, ask them to make note. Then tell them what mistakes they usually make in doing the exercises of the Present Progressive tense. Step 3:PracticeAsk one of the students to come to the blackboard, then chose one of the pictures which are prepared. Then ask the student to do the action. The practice ask and answer like following:A: What is he doing?B : He is A: Is he?B: Yes, he is. / No, he isnt.A: What are they doing?B They areA: Are they?B: Yes, they are. / No, they arent.After one student finish, ask another one or ones to do the next action. Ss: Therere twelve months in a year. T: Lets say them together.Ss: January, February, March, April, T: Good. January is the first month of the year. The second month is February. The third month is March. (Show the cards with ordinal numbers. Have Ss repeat them a few times.)Step III Grammar Focus T: One, two, three, we call them cardinal numbers. First, second, third, we call them ordinal numbers. They often end with “th”. They are used as not only ordinal numbers, but also adjectives or adverbs. They are usually used together with “the”, but sometimes with “a” or without an article.Pay attention to the following words:Onefirst; twosecond; threethird; fivefifth; nineninth; twelvetwelfth.Step IV PresentationUse a Chinese calendar to practise:T: Look here! Whats the date today? (Have Ss repeat it and tell them to answer with “it is”.)Ss: Its November 18th. T: Whats the date tomorrow?Ss: It is November 19th.T: What was the date yesterday
