There is a Jurassic Park in the film. And there are many dinosaurs in the park. Can you spell the word dinosaur ?Ss: Yes. D-I-N-O-S-A-U-R. (write the word dinosaur on the blackboard)T: Now look at the screen, guess the names of the dinosaurs.(show some pictures about different species of dinosaurs one by one)T: What kind of dinosaur it is?Ss:T: What about this?Ss:翼龙 Pterosaur 剑龙Stegosaurus 三角龙Triceratops 霸王龙 Daspletosaurus T: Yes. There are many different species of dinosaurs living on the earth tens of millions of years ago. But they died out quickly about 65 million years ago. Could you tell me why they disappeared from the earth so quickly?(write the phrase on the earth tens of millions of years ago die out on the blackboard )Ss:(summarize the reasons students said) a large rock hit the earth and put too much dust into the air Volcanic eruption on the earththe earth got too hot for the dinosaurs to live on it any more. The change of global weathercolder Plants died in cold weather and the dinosaurs died because of lack of food. Disease T: Well, there are many many reasons for the disappearance of dinosaurs. But nobody knows for sure. We are not sure which are the real reasons.(show a picture of a stamp)T: Now look at the screen and tell me what you can see.Ss:T: Whats the name of the animal on the stamp?Ss:T: Right. Its dodo.Step: ListeningT: Dodos lived in the island of Mauritiusa country in the southwestern Indian Ocean. It is a kind of extremely big bird with white eyes and black mouth. Its weather is grey and the length of its body is 100-110 centimeters. It is good at running but cant fly. Whats more, its kindly and lives on fruits.(show a PowerPoint listing several reasons why dodos disappeared)Possible reasons of dodos extinction The change of weather Dodos killed each other. Human beings killed them. Lack of food They dont want to eat anything and starve to die.
