So please dont go out on school nights. 3. Please read rules in part 1 and fill in the boxes of the rules of 1b.4. Check the answers with the class. . Listening1. Tell Ss theyll listen to the recording about Daves house rules. Listen and put an for things Dave cant do and a for things he has to do. Students look at the picture in section 1a2. Play the recording for the Ss to listen and check.3. Play the recording again for the Ss to check the answers. . Listening1. Now lets work on 1c. Now first, lets read the phrases aloud together. 2. Explain the meaning of the phrases if necessary.3. Play the recording three times for the Ss to listen and write the phrases in the chart in 1b. (Directions: listen to the passage only, not write, and listen to the exact time that is associated with each activity. Then, when listening to the second time, listening and recording, you can use shorthand notation. You can also use the letters in the beginning of the words. Finally, organize your own records and write the correct phrases. Finally, listen and check if the phrases are correct.) 4. Check the answers: . Group work 1. Divide the Ss into groups. Each group has eight students. 2. T: Now lets talk about Daves home rules. 3. Ss work in groups. Every student can say one rule. Then you can write down what the rules are when other group members say. 4. Make a list of Daves house rules. . Thinking 1. T: Everybody may have something unhappy. When you are unhappy who do you like to talk to? S1: I like to talk to my aunt. S2: I like to talk to my best friend. S3: I like to talk to T: OK. Do you know, when Im unhappy I like to talk to Dr. Know. Shes great and he knows everything. She can give you the best advice. Now, lets work on 2a and lets meet Dr. Know. . Presentation 1. Show some pictures on the big screen. Teach Ss the new words and expressions. dirty, dishes, kitchen, noisy, relax, terrible, read, feel, strict, be strict with 2. Ss learn the new words and expressions and try to remember them. . Reading 1. Fast readingT: There are many rules in Mollys home and school. She feels unhappy. Careful reading 1) Read the letter again and underline the rules for Molly. 2) Ss read the letter and try to find the rules for Molly and underline them. 3) Check the answers with the class. Read the letter again and complete the sentences with have to/ must, can or cant. 2. Reading guide:1) first, read these sentences in 2c carefully and understand the rules theyre talking about.2) read the letter in 2a with the relevant rules, analyze it carefully, understand the true meaning of the rules, and fill in the correct words.3) read the sentences again and again to see if they are smooth.4. Check the answers. Homework 1. Remember the new words and expressions in this period. 2. Ask Ss write down Mollys rules at home and at school.
