Teaching Key Points : the usage of the adjectives to describe different animals. 3. Teaching DifficultiesTrain the Ss to use the adjective words correctly.To improve the students listening ability.To train students communication ability4. TeachingmethodsTask-based teaching; Cooperative learning;5. Teaching aids: PowerPoint, some pictures of the animals a small piece of video. 6 .Teaching procedures:Step Lead- in.Show the Ss pictures of animals and ask them questions about the animals A: What is this? B: Its a/an A: Can you spell it? B:. A: Where is it from? B: Its from A: Where does it come from? B: It comes from When ask and answer the teacher gives the example first then ask the students to do the conversation together. The students can review the words and sentences through the conversations.Step II Presentation.Present the sentence structure and review the words for descriptionA: What do you think of B: I think they are.Through this part we can consolidate what they studied yesterday, communicate with others about their feelings and prepare for the new lesson.Step III Group work (1d:P28)Ask the students to talk about what animals they like or dislike. Let the Ss work in groups.A: What animals do/dont you like?B: I (dont) like. A: Why do/dont you like?B: Because theyre kind of. What animals do/dont you like?A: I (dont) like .because theyreTrain the Ss speaking ability and prepare for later exercises.Step IV Listening (1a, 1b: P28)Ask the students to listen to Amy and Tina talking about the two restaurants and do the exercises. Train the Ss listening ability and prepare for later exercises.Step VDo a survey.After learning 1b, 1c, let the Ss do a survey about what animals they like or dislike and the reasons for their answers. This step can train their speaking ability and the way they organize their expression. Its a step from textbook to real life. After the survey, they will have one student in their group to do the report. The structure of the report can be like this: Hello, everyone! In my group, I like because I think But I dont likebecause Tom likesbecause he thinks But he doesnt likebecause Step VI Exercise Check if the students have learned the language of this lesson.Step VII Learn more (1) Ask the students to guess the meaning of the proverbs about animals.
