Step 2 New word and drills. 1.Tell students that we have many ways to express the kinds of weather. 2.Teach them how to ask the weather. Show the sentence on the blackboard. How is the weather?3.Show a group of pictures and teach the new words: sun sunny Then make sentences like this:How is the weather?Its sunny .4.Teach the rest words: rainy, cloudy, windy, snowy in the same way.5. Show some signs of weather. what are their meanings? Ask some students to answer.6.Show another group of pictures about Beijing, Shanghai, Harbin, Wuhan and Sanya. Ask students to look at the screen and discuss the weather in these cities. Ask some students to show their conversations like this:S1: Hows the weather in Beijing?S2: Its sunny.7.Ask some pairs to show their conversation.Step 3 1a.1. Match the words with the pictures a-e.2. Check the answers.Step 4 Listening task.1. Ask students to look at the names of these city below the pictures. Teach them.2. Look at 1b, listen and write these city names in the boxes above.3. Play the recording and then check the answers.4. Play the recording again and let the students fill in the chart.Step 5 Practice1. Let students make conversations according to the chart.2. Ask some pairs to show their conversations.Step 6 Summary T: This period we have learned how to describe the weather.
