Now I will explain the lesson from the following aspects. Teaching contentIn Section 1, it mainly deals with 5 new words about food and the new sentence patterns: What would you like? Id like some .And in Section 2, it provides a game for students to consolidate the new words and sentences. Analysis of the studentsThe students are in Grade 4. They are active and curious. And they are interested in food and drink. They have some basic English background knowledge, so I should provide them more chances to communicate with others by using the new language items. Teaching aims1. Knowledge aims(1). To enable the students to listen, read, say and use the new words: beef, chicken, soup ,noodles and vegetables.(2).To enable the students to understand and speak the new sentence patterns: What would you like ? Id like some . OK. Here you are.2. Aims on ability:(1). To develop the students abilities of listening and speaking. (2). To enable the students to understand and communicate with the sentence patterns: What would you like? Id like some.in real situations. 3. Emotional aims: To help the students to cherish food and enjoy life. Important points and difficult points Important points: (1). To help the Ss use the new words to ask and answer the following question: What would you like? Id like some ,please. (2). To enable the Ss to study in groups and cooperate. (3). To develop Ss interest in English.Difficult points: (1). Read the new words correctly and recite them in class. (2). Use the new sentence patterns in real situations. Teaching methods As we all know, the main instructional aims of learning English in primary school is to cultivate pupils basic abilities of listening, speaking and their good sense of English language. So in this lesson Ill mainly use “Task-based” teaching method and “TPR” teaching method .That is to say, Ill let the Ss learn in real situations, and arrange them activities such as singing, chant and communicate activities. And in this lesson, Multi-media, CAI and pictures of food will be needed. Teaching steps and purposes of my designingStep. Warm up1.Sing a song2.Say the words as quickly as you can Purpose: to revise the words about food and drink that weve learned before, to form a better English learning surrounding for the Ss.Step. Presentation With the help of PPT, Ill teach five new words about food and the new sentence: “Id some , please.”1.Lead-in: What time is it? Its about 12. Im hungry .Lets go to QQ restaurant. Lets look at the food on the menu.2.Try to use the sentence “Id like some.”to express the food you want. 3.Teach new words with the help of PPT.eg: beef T:What would you like ? Help Ss answer: Beef ,beef, Id like some beef.Ill teach other new words in the same way. Purpose: Ss are very interested in QQ restaurant. So its helpful to arouse Ss interest. Listen and read the new words according to the pictures. Its easy for Ss to understand and grasp the new words.Step . Practice Read and say the familiar sentences: Id like some beef/chicken/soup/noodles/vegetables.1.Play a guessing game: Whats missing?1.Open sesame2.Lets chant Purpose: Here are many games for Ss to consolidate the new words and the new sentence patterns. Ss will be very interested in playing gameStep . Extension1.Lets act: Try to order the food in the restaurant and then pay for them.2.Group work: What would you like if you have 30 Yuan ? Purpose: to communicate with the new language items in real situations. Its useful to train Ss ability.Step . Summary 1. T ask Ss answer: - What would you like? -Id like some beef/soup/noodles/chicken/vegetables. -OK. Here you are. 2.conclusion: Cherishing the food is to have a passion for life. Purpose: to conclude what weve learned in this lesson. To teach Ss to cherish food and enjoy life.
