Whats the matter? Section A 1a-2c教学设计 山西省汾西县第二中学校 蒋穆丽一、教材分析 本节课的主要内容是新目标八年级英语第一单元第一课时,教材是以Whats the matter ?为中心话题,描述身体不适和提出建议展开,学习和运用Whats the matter ? 和 should、shouldnt 让学生学会描述身体的不适和提出建议,本课教材内容与学生的实际生活密切相关,易于引出学生运用简单的英语进行交际和交流,在学习活动中,学生通过对身体不适的描述及建议,促进了学生之间和师生之间的情感交流,增进了情谊。二、学情分析初二年级学生对英语已经有了一定的基础,但部分学生对英语的兴趣不是很浓,在学习中,他们更喜欢从游戏中或活动中学习,因而,激发他们的学习兴趣,成为课堂上不可或缺的一个环节。为此,我采取了图片、游戏等可以吸引学生眼球的辅助工具,并反复训练句型,以达到让学生熟悉运用的目的。这样更能提高他们的学习兴趣,让他们更轻松地掌握英语知识。三、Teaching Aims1. Knowledge Objects(1)Function: Learn to describe and talk about the health problems and accidents. Learn to give others some right advice according to their problems.(2)Vocabulary: matter, sore, throat, stomachache, foot, neck,stomach, fever, lie, rest, cough, toothache, headache, break, hurt, have a stomachache, have a cold, lie down, see a dentist, get an X-ray, take ones temperature, have a fever, have a headache, take breaks, in the same way, go to a doctor(3)Target Language: Whats the matter? I have a stomachache. / I have a sore back. / I have a cold. She has a very sore throat. My head feels very hot. What should I do? I think you should lie down and rest.(4) Structure: have a+ the names of the illness should + verb2. Ability ObjectsEnable students to talk about health problems and give advice with the language points.3. Moral Objects(1) Improve the cooperative spirit through pair work and role playing.(2) Students care more about themselves and their family members health.四、Teaching Key Points1. Learn and master the parts of the body, the names of the illness and the expressions of giving advice.2. Learn to talk about health problems by using “Whats the matter? T: This is really a beautiful song. Yes, hands and feet are parts of our body , do you know other parts of our body? Ok, now lets review some parts of our body.The teacher shows a picture of her daughter, then asks students to say the parts of the girls body. Then teaches some new words: neck, stomach.2. Present a picture of a man on the screen, let students say each part of the body.3. Play a game: I say, you do. The teacher asks eight students to come to the front and do as the teacher tells them. If one does wrong, let him or her go back, the last one whos in the front is the winner.4. Finish 1a.Step 3 Presentation and Practice1. The teacher mimes having a stomachache with an action of touching her stomach, and asks:“Im not feeling well, if you are doctors,what can you say? You can say Whats the matter? ” Then shows some pictures on the screen and ask students to practice using “- Whats the matter with him/her? - He/She has a”2. Grammar Focus(1)询问疾病的常用句型:Whats the matter with sb? = Whats the trouble with sb?= Whats wrong with sb?注:with为介词,后跟人称代词宾格,如her, him, them等。eg: Whats the matter with your mother? Whats the trouble with her? Whats wrong with you?(2)在英语中,表达“疼痛或不舒服”时的常用结构:主语+have/has+a+部位-ache eg: He has a backache.主语+have/has+a+sore+发病部位 eg: She has a sore throat.主语+have/has+病症 eg: I have a fever.(3)常加后缀-ache构成的词:head tooth stomach back常用sore修饰的词:back throat两者都可用的词:back3. Work in pairs. The teacher shows some pictures on the screen, then asks students to practice in pairs using the sentence pattern “- Whats the matter with him/her? - He/She has a”Step 4 Work on 1bStudents listen and number the names.Step 5 Work on 1cHave students work in pairs according to 1c and ask some pairs to act out their conversations.Step 6 Work on 2a and 2b1. Do 2a.Have students listen and number the pictures in the order they hear. Then check the answers.2. Do 2b.Students read the sentences in 2b, then listen again and match the problems with the advice.Step 7 Work on 2c1. The teacher shows some pictures on the screen, then lets students guess illness and give some advice.2. Learn to give others some right advice according to their problems.3. Pairwork. Let students read the conversations in 2c first. Then work in pairs, make new conversations according to 2a and 2b.Step 8 SummaryAsk students to sum up the parts of a body and the names of illness.Help students to sum up how to give advice by using “should”
