To improve their interest in learning English, and to cultivate students love anlmal emotions.Teaching aids: PPTTeaching procedures:Step1:Warm-upListen to a song Bingo.Step2: Presentation1. Enjoying some animal pictures, oral practice.T: Whats this?S:Its a cat.T: Yes, its a cat. C-A-T,cat. T: Whats this?S:Its a pig.T: Yes, its a pig. P-I-G,pig.T: Whats this?S:Its a rabbit.T: Yes, its a rabbit. R-A-B-B-I-T, rabbit.T: Whats this?S:Its a tiger.T: Yes, its a tiger. T-I-G-E-R, tiger.T: Whats this?S:Its a tiger.T: Yes, its a tiger. T-I-G-E-R, tiger. Then in the same way, to revise the words: elephant, bear, panda, bird, monkey, duck. Then the teacher describe animals with the actions.2. Teach the new words: giraffe,tall,short.(1) Guess: T: What is it? Is it a panda? Is it a tiger? Oh, no. Its tall. Its so tall!Then lead to giraffe, and describe it.T: Look at that giraffe. Its so tall.Ss:Look at that giraffe. Wow! Its so tall.Note: so means 太 (2)T: Look at the bear, Its short.3. Teach the word: big, fat ,thinT: Look at the elephant, Its big.Big ,big, bigSs: Big, big, big.T: Look at the pig. Its fat. Fat, fat,fat.Ss: Fat,fat,fat.T: Look at the monkey. Its thin. Thin, thin, thin.Ss: Thin, thin, thin.Step: Consolidation1. Practise in pairs.Two students, A:youre tall, Im short. B: youre short, Im tall.2. Describe animals.Ss: Look at the elephant. Its big. It has a long nose.Ss: Look at the rabbit. Its short. It has long ears.Ss: Look at the monkey. It thin. It has a long tail.Ss: Look at the dog. Its fat. It has a fat body.3.
