八(下)Unit 7 Whats the highest mountain in the world?安吉天略外国语学校 王丽娜一、教学目标知识目标:1.掌握以下词汇及词组whale, oil, protection, huge, jump out of water ,protectfrom 2.掌握以下句式:Catch whales for meat, fat and oil; Learn more about whales;Stop putting rubbish into the sea; They have to be protected.3.掌握本单元形容词,副词最高级的用法,能熟练用在句子当中。能力目标:巩固所学知识,提高学生的写作技能和对语言的综合运用能力。情感目标:了解动物,保护动物。二、 教学重难点1.能熟练掌握最高级。2.能运用所学词汇,句型描写动物,表达自己的观点。三、教法1.多媒体教学法 2.任务教学法四、教学过程及设计意图Step1:Lead-in(5minutes)Free talk: Ask students to name as many sea life as they can and then introduce whales.T: Have you ever been to the sea? Do you like the sea and why?S: open answers. Some students may say because there are many wonderful sea life in the sea like whales.T: What do you know about whales?学生活动:Discuss the sea or the ocean and the sea life, tell the reason why they like the seas or the oceans. Share the information they collected in groups.教师活动:Collect the students answers on the blackboard to enlarge Ss vocabulary.设计意图:大海是人人都热爱,向往的。让学生们讨论下他们心目中的大海,是什么吸引他们,学生会自然提到各种各样的神奇的海洋生物,这样既活跃了课堂气氛又增加了词汇量并顺畅地引出本节课的写作话题-鲸。然后小组讨论即分享了收集到的信息又检测了学生的预习作业。Step2: Before-writing (15minutes)1. Lets talk about Whales:T: How much do you know about whales. In which aspects we should talk about them? (Four aspects: Home-Appearance-Food-Skills)学生活动:Volunteer to say more about whales according to the pictures.教师活动: Teacher uses pictures to present the four aspects, and encourage the students to say more about the whales.设计意图:用图片、数据展示关于鲸鱼的生活习性,然后稍作整合,变成一小段文字,为作文中心段的第一部分做准备,巩固形容词的最高级的用法和数字的表达。2. Lets see the serious problems:T: Whales are one of the biggest animals in the world. They are so smart and wonderful. But in face of humans, they are so helpless and vulnerable. Now, lets see the serious problems they are faced with.学生活动:Ask students to say more about the problems that whales face.教师活动:Help students express their ideas and use the languages correctly.设计意图:鲸鱼这么强大,面对人类,也不可避免的遭受迫害,数量在不断下降,从而引出作文中心段的第二部分,鲸鱼面临的问题。用图片让学生直观了解现实。3. Lets discuss how to help the whales:T: Whales are our friends, how can we help them? In my mind and in your mindS: Encourage students to give more solutions.设计意图:鼓励学生用造句的方式想出更多拯救鲸鱼的方案。即美化句子又为作文中心段的第三部分-如何帮助鲸鱼摆脱困境积累素材。4. Do a conclusion, using the table on 3a.设计意图:回归书本,用report的方式总结写前的内容,降低写作的难度。Step3: While-writing (10 minutes)Ask Ss to write a passage according to the following information: 请你以 “Protecting whales”为题,为你学校的英语报“习作专栏”写一篇征文稿。 内容提示:1. 鲸鱼的生活习性;2. 鲸鱼处境危险的原因;3. 保护鲸鱼和其他海 洋生物的建议。 要求:1.包括所有提示信息,可适当发挥;时态正确、语意连贯。 2. 字数不少于80字。 Give students ten minutes to write the composition. Divide the passage into three parts:Beginning: eg. The sea is a colorful world. whalesBody: problemssolutionsEnding: eg. Love the sea, love the world! 设计意图:按考试类型,改编一下写作内容。让学生清楚了解文章的细节,指导学生如何整合谋篇布局,以及给出高分写作的要求。Step 4: After-writing (10 minutes)1. Share Ss compositions in class and get them graded according to the hints and ask them to explain the reason.2. The teacher chooses some compositions and share with the whole class.3. Let the students read the samples together.设计意图:通过自评,互评,师评,使学生优化自己的作文,最后再呈现一篇范文。Step 5: Homework1. Perfect the passage according to the teachers sample;2. Do a Cloze. (完成老师自己编造的一篇关于鲸鱼的完型填空。)设计意图:1.根据三种评改和范文,再次优化文章。2. 扩展练习,完成原创的完型填空,丰富学生的知识面。3.提升学生保护动物的意识。Cloze:Whales are very smart animals. They live _1_ the ocean. They are huge. The blue whale is the largest and _2_ one among all the whales. An adult blue whale _3_ many times more than an elephant. Some whales have _4_, but some dont.
