From his speech, we knew that ancient games began in the year 776 BC. They were held at Olympia in Greece every four years until AD 394. The athletes at the ancient games were all men and they had to compete wearing no clothes. Single women were allowed to take part in their own competition, at a separate festival in_honour_of the wife of the Greek god Zeus.The contemporary Olympics were first held in 1896. Pierre de Coubertin brought the Olympics back to life. Mr Johnson introduced some famous athletes in history, such as Muhammad Ali, Michael Jordan, Xu Haifeng, Deng Yaping, Liu Xiang, who have made great contributions to the Olympic Games. All in all, it was those Olympians who have brought joy to the world with their attempts to push the boundaries of human achievement. At last, Mr Johnson invited us to join him in wishing the Olympic Movement a successful future to match its past glory.Activity 6 Enjoying a video(视频) From the video, we can know that some advertisements play tricks on us. Activity 7 Discussion and interview(采访) Please make up an interview in pairs (两人一组) according to the passage. One student acts as the interviewer(采访者), and the other acts as the interviewee(被采访者) .
