If you put up your hands and answer a question correctly or act out a conversation, youll get an apple. Finally lets see who get more apples. Are you clear? Step 2: Lead-inT: I bring some things here. Please look. Whats this in English? Ss: Its a pen.T: Whats this?Ss: Its a ruler. T: The pen is long. The ruler is short. So the pen is longer than the ruler. (把例句写在黑板上) The ruler is shorter than the pen. (把例句写在黑板上)T: Whats this in English?Ss: Its an apple.T: Whats this?Ss: Its an orange.T: The apple is big. The orange is small. So the apple is bigger than the orange. (把例句写在黑板上) The orange is smaller than the apple. (把例句写在黑板上)(画出四个词longer, shorter, bigger, smaller。)T: “long, short, big, small”. Do you know their part of speech? They are adjs. “Longer, shorter, bigger, smaller”. They are comparative degrees. We can use these words to compare things. Attention, please. Theres a same word after longer, shorter, bigger, smaller. Whats it?Ss: “than”T: “than” means “比”. When we compare things, we must use it. Do you remember? Now read after me.Step 3: Presentation(展示四张图片,教单词、句型)T: We can not only compare things, but also compare people. Look! Whos this? Ss: Yao Ming.T: Whos this?Ss: Pan Changjiang.T: Yao Ming is tall. But Pan Changjiang is short. Right? So we can say, “Yao Ming is taller than Panchangjiang.” “Pan Changjiang is shorter than Yao Ming.”(教读单词、句子)T: This is Sally. She is heavy. That is Lucy. She is thin. So we can say, “Sally is heavier than Lucy.” “Lucy is thinner than Sally.”(教读单词、句子)T: Whos this?Ss: Li Yuchun.T: Whos this?Ss: Fan Bingbing.T: Li Yuchun has short hair. Fan Bingbing has long hair. So we can say, “Li Yuchun has shorter hair than Fan Bingbing.” “Fan Bingbing has longer hair than Li Yuchun.”(教读单词、句子)T: This is Bob. He is calm. That is Jack. He is wild. So we can say, “Bob is calmer than Jack.” “Jack is wilder than Bob.”(教读单词、句子)再把形容词比较级全部板书到一张幻灯片上,再教单词:tall- taller, short-shorter, heavy-heavier, thin-thinner, long hair- longer hair, short hair- shorter hair, calm-calmer, wild-wilder教完后让学生自己读,有不会的举手问。然后请一男一女读,再分男女生读。Step 4: PracticeGame: 玩游戏老师说原级,学生快速地所出比较级。T: Next, lets play a game. I say adjs. You please stand up quickly and say the comparative degrees. Are you clear?1a: 搭配反义词,完成1a。请个学生说答案。T: Next, please open your books. Turn to P, activity 1a. Match each word with the opposite. If you finish, hands up. The first one can get an apple.Step 5: PairworkT: Please make similar conversations like this. Compare your classmates with yourselves. First, lets read the sample together. A: I have longer hair than you. B: Im taller than you. T: Now please do a report like this: A: I have longer hair than Tom. He is taller than me. B: I have shorter hair than Mary. She is shorter than me.Finally, invite some pairs to act out. (给时间操练,然后请几对表演)Step 6: Listening practice: 1bT: Now please look at your books, 1b. Listen to the tape and number the three pairs of twins 1-3 in the order you hear them. Do you know “twins”? It means “双胞胎”. “three pairs of twins” means “三对双胞胎”. Attention, please.
