What were you doing at the time of the rainstorm?I was doing my homework. 2. What was he doing when the rainstorm came?He was reading in the library when the rainstorm came. 3. What were the people doing when the rainstorm came?教学难点过去进行时的结构及运用。能根据听力进行角色表演并写成报道。教学过程Step1 Warming- up 1. Review some phrases that have learnt in 1a and1b .wait for the bus, walk home, at the time of ,do ones homework, at the bus stop, read books,on the street.2. Review Present Progressive TensePresentation a picture and let students talk about it with Progressive Tense.探究一:过去进行时(Past Progressive Tense)Step2 Lead-InExplain the new tense in the unit-Past Progressive Tense .Then make some examples and make up some sentences. So that the student can understand the use of it.Step3 PresentationImagine there was a rainstorm yesterday,what were the people doing when the rainstorm came? Here are some reports. Lead the student to practice the conversations. For example:A: Where were you when the rainstorm came?B: I was in the library.A: What were you doing when the rainstorm came?B: I was waiting for the bus at the bus stop. Then have them do them by themselves. Step4 1aWhere were the people at the time of the rainstorm? Match the statements with the people in the picture .Then check the answers .The answers are : b ,a ,d , c .探究二: ListeningStep5 ListeningHave the students listen to the tape twice , and give them some task to do each time.Task1: What were the people doing ,when the rainstorm came? Lets listen.Pay attention to “was/were +doing”.When the first listening finishes ,let them do 1b. Listen to the TV report and circle the correct responses. Check the answers then.Task2:Answer the following questions.1.How was yesterdays rainstorm?2. Why was the boy so glad?3. Did the woman get wet? Why?4. Why did the man still get wet?When the second listening finishes ,let the students answer the questions in pairs.探究三:SpeakingStep6 1c Pair-workTalk about what the people in 1a were doing at the time of the rainstorm. Let them practice for a few minutes, then choose several pairs to ask and answer.The teacher and other students all listen to them carefully, and find out the mistakes .Then correct them.探究四:Role-playStep7 Group-work :Let students work in groups ,each five students make up a group, one is the reporter ,the other four role the people in the pictures .Then make a conversation to talk about the rainstorm of yesterday. About five minutes later ,make them act in the front of the classroom. Chose the best and praise them.探究五:WritingStep8 Have the students retell the story : Now you are the reporter. They were playing soccer.2、What is she doing now?She is reading a book.3、过去进行时:肯定句:主语+was/were+ving 否定句:主语+ was/were+not+ ving 一般疑问句:was/were+主语+其他?4、What were the people doing when the rainstorm came?at the time of the rainstorm?They were./She/He was 教学反思各位老师大家好:今天我所讲的是人教版英语八年级下第五单元第一课时,What were you doing when the rainstorm came?本节课主要涉及一个新语法知识过去进行时,我首先展示一张图片,运用现在进行时说句子,然后变换时间引出新的语法内容过去进行时,通过操练例句的对比使学生对过去进行时态有了一个感性的认识,明确过去进行时态的构成,然后运用几组图片对这一时态再进行练习。此处是小组练习环节,通过操练熟悉过去进行时态的构成。在听力环节,设计了两个任务,首先是简单的听对话找短语,第二遍根据听力材料回答我预设的四个问题,难度有了提高,学生在听的过程中注意捕捉问题的答案,变成自己的语言进行回答,这一环节有的学生没有做对,可以再多听一遍。接下来是本课说的环节,也是本课的难点之一,要求学生熟练运用过去时态进行对话,然后在这个基础上进行角色表演,我找了两组同学台前来表演,学生们课下还自制了教具,课堂参与度非常高,体现了学生为主体的教学理念。最后根据听力材料以及表演的内容,写一篇小记者报道,使学生能够进行故
