Such as: Qomolangma, the Nile, the Caspian Sea, higher than any other mountain2. Ability aim:To learn to read large numbers.To learn how to express the length and depth of something in English.To learn superlative. 3. Emotional aim: Do something to protect the environment. Such as: saving water, recycling bags and so on.Teaching important points:Remember the new words and the method to read large numbers.Teaching difficult points:Use the comparative and the superlative correctly.Teaching methods:Double activities teaching method; Question - and answer teaching method; Pair work or individual work method.Teaching aids:Multimedia; a blackboard.教学过程 Step 1 Lead-inIll lead the new lesson by showing a group of pictures with music. (It helps to arise students interest of study.)Step 2 Presentation1. Help students learn the pronunciation of some famous places by showing pictures.2. Ask and answer. ( It can help students choose the answers in 1a and at the same time, students can finish these questions.)Q: How high is Qomolangma? How long is the Nile? How big is the Sahara? How deep is the Caspian Sea?1a. Its higher than any other mountain in the world.( Improve students speaking ability and help students master the comparative and the superlative.).Step 6 Competition Divide students into five groups. Each group choose a word and answer the following questions. If they can answer the questions, they can get the points. Finally choose the winner.(It helps to arise students interest and its a good examination of this class for students.)Step 7 SummaryHelp students to summarize the key words and phrases this class.(It helps students to review the whole language points.)Step 8 DiscussionDo you want your home in the desert in the future?If no, what should you do?(It means to give students emotional education. To make some dialogues about asking the size of objects. 板书设计Unit7 Whats the highest mountain in the world?Section A(1a-1c)1.New words: hundred (百), thousand (千), million (百万), point (点), Qomolangma, the Sahara, the Caspian Sea, the Nile2.Important sentences: about 9,600,000 square kilometers in size higher than any other mountain the deepest of all the salt lakes教学反思优点: 1.通过图片、音乐充分调动了学生学习英语的积极性,极大地激发了他们的学习热情和学习兴趣,引导学生快速掌握了本节课的新单词和重难点。并且适当的运用口语对他们进行鼓励,让他们在密切配合、和谐、民主的课堂氛围中尽情地展现他们自己。 同学们在相互欣赏,互相赞美的氛围中兴致昂然地做着每项活动。尽量使每个学生都有了成就感,他们都积极地参与,都体会到了说英语的乐趣。 2.引导学生做到了“学中用,用中学”。 在活动型英语教学中展开活动学英语,而不是一味地让他们机械地记忆、简单的模仿。在Pair work 和 Dicussion活动中,让学生在开口说英语,以此提高了他们的英语口语,培养了他们的劳动能力和独立生活的能力。学生们在“学中用,用中学”的过程中有了自豪感 、成就感和学习英语的自信心。 缺点: 1. 设计的教学任务缺乏合作性。 虽然他们有了合作意识,但是分
