Knowledge Aims: (1) Get Ss be familiar with adjectives about describing the features of animals.thin, fat, long, short, small, big, etc. (2) Let Ss know how to use key sentence structures to describe animals.A. Look at the.B. It has (a/an) + adj + body part (+and + adj +body part). 2. Ability Aims: (1) Improve Ss listening comprehension ability and communicative ability. (2) Let Ss know how to correctly describe animals in the authentic situation. 3. Emotional Aims: (1) Cultivate Sss love for animals and nature.(2) Improve Ss observation and aesthetic ability.II. Teaching Focal and Difficult Points 1. Focal Point: How to describe animals by correctly using adjectives in the authentic situation. 2. Difficult Point: Tell the difference of the usage between “Its .” and “It has.”.III. Be thin.Be thin.Be thin,thin,thin! Be tall.Be tall.Be tall,tall,tall! Be short.Be short.Be short,short,short!通过说唱热身,使学生回顾相关形容词,为导入新课做准备。Step2 Lead-in* Task1 (Individual work ): Ask and answer Teacher guides Ss to answer questions. T: What animals do you see? S: I see a/an. Teachers conclusion: “We can see many animals in the beautiful picture. Today Lets follow to the fish to read a story about animals. Do you want to read it? Yes or No?* Task2 (class work+pair work ): Read a story Guide Ss to read the story about two animals who lose their home find new home and friends with the help of the monkey. Lose home Find new home (self-introduction) T: Imagine you are a lovely animal, how will you introduce yourself? Find new friends通过和学生的简短对话,在复习动物词汇的同时,引起学生参与课堂活动的热情;用故事吸引学生学习的兴趣,为理解故事、运用句型对话做准备;通过同伴对话,训练学生的思维能力语言表达能力。Step3 Presentation* Task1 (class work+Individual work): Look and say According to the story, the elephant firstly find a new friend, so the teacher presents a picture of an elephant, and guide Ss to describe it. a big body a long nose It has a short tail big ears small eyes* Task2 (class work+individual work+group work): “Let talk” (1) Watch the video of “Lets talk”. (2) Answer the questions. Q1: Who are they? Q2: Where are they? Q3: What are they doing? Q4: What does John / Chenjie / Mike see respectively? (3) Follow to the recordings and read the conversation. (4) Role-play the conversation in groups of 4. 逐步引导学生观察并描述大象的身体部位,初步了解该句型的用法,培养学生的观察分析能力;通过观看动画,使学生充分浸入到语言情境中;通过回答问题,使学生深入理解该对话及句型;通过角色扮演练习对话,把握正确的语音语调,培养学生的语感。Step4 Practice and consolidation* Task1: (class work+individual work): Listen and do When the teacher say the sentence “It has long ears. / It has a big face. / It has a short tail. / It has big eyes.”, Ss are supposed to put its body parts on the blackboard respectively to make a rabbit.* Task2: (class work+group work): Do and say (1) Teachers presentation: Make a monster by putting a big eye on the elephant. Q: Is it still an elephant? If “no”, what is it? T: Monster. (Guide Ss to say the word “monster”) (2) Ss: Make a monster in groups of 6, and invite group representatives to describe it. (3) Ss preaentation通过“听一听,做一做”的任务,训练学生的听力理解能力,让学生在“做”中获得学习的成就感;教师展示怪物进行描述,为学生完成任务提供示范,帮助学生理解任务指令;通过小组合作制作怪物并进行描述,充分调动学生的想象力,培养学生的语言表达和交际能力。Step5 Summary & Assignment (1) Make a summary of what we have learned today.
