T says when some new friends come to our school, what will you say?Ss: Say the sentence in Chinese. Some groups say the sentence one by one.2. T shows the poster of Lesson1Talk about the story3. Picture 1: Where are Ann, Ken and Mocky?Picture 2: Where are they now?Picture 3: What do you think Mocky and Wang Ling are saying? Picture 4: What is Mocky looking at? Say, one word has a short /u/ sound (umbrella) and the other word has a long /u/ sound (blue). 2. Open the book. Try to read the other words.3. Play the tape. Ss: Listen which word have a short/u/ sound or a long /u/ sound.4. Turn to Uncle Bookys ABC at the back of the student book and point to the row of /u/ words. Say each word and model the short and long sounds. 5. T play the tape and Ss repeat the words.Practice:1. Say the words in pairs. 2. Present it .3. T point to the first row of words and pictures. Say, three of the words have a short /u/ sound but one word has a long /u/ sound. Play the tape.Ss listen and check.Repeat the procedure for the long /u/ words.4. Listen and repeat the words.5. Practice in pairs and then find some show.Production:1. Open the book on page 61, look at the pictures and try to say the words.2.
