Extensive Reading Searching for the truth教学设计深圳市北师大南山附中 黄洪教材分析本课作为泛读教材,不要求学生逐词逐句地阅读,而是要在浏览全文的过程中,有意识、有目的地快速(在规定时间内)获取需要的信息,善于抓住文章中的关键词、句和主题句,以及掌握全文的大意;并且学会通过上下文快速猜测、判断某词的含义,不中断阅读过程,从而更快地了解文章的内容,提高阅读速度。为了让学生对本节课的知识有更透彻的了解,我在课本原有练习的基础上增加了一个新闻视频训练(The environmental day)和一个一句话新闻练习,最后通过一个新闻报道小组活动来更加巩固本节课的所学所练。教学目标1. 知识与技能通过阅读让学生了解primary sources和secondary sources的含义以及对二者的区分,并能概括文章的主旨大意;通过阅读培养学生的语篇理解能力,语篇分析能力、判断能力,提高阅读速度;并通过小组活动加深他们对文章内容的理解,提高他们的语言表达能力以及培养学生积极参与,相互合作的能力.2.过程与方法本节课以任务型教学法作为课堂教学设计理念,通过fast reading 和intensive reading等多种方式训练学生的阅读能力与技巧;帮助学生理解文章主旨大意;通过学习讨论,分析判断和角色扮演等一系列活动培养学生的综合能力.本节课将使用图片、录音、录像等教具,增大信息输入量,使教学节奏紧凑,提高教学效率与教学质量.3.态度情感与价值观通过对 primary sources和secondary sources 的学习,让学生学会客观地分析和正确地判断生活中各种不同来源的信息;通过小组活动培养他们相互合作的精神;通过角色扮演活动让学生体验应用英语的成功和喜悦.教学重点阅读理解,学生活动教学难点学生活动时的参与积极性以及活动展开后对时间的把握教学手段Powerpoint多媒体课件、图片、录像教学方法问题导学教学过程Searching for the truthStep 1 Warming-up (5minutes)1. Get the students to discuss the latest news which happened in Shen Zhen. (group work)2. Collect the information and ask them if they know what they reported belongs to which source- primary source or secondary source?(The students dont need to answer it)(Focus: To encourage the students to speak English actively and fluently. Their discussion will not only lead to my topic but also ease their tension )Step 2 InputFast reading (5 minutes)Read the passage and answer the following questions.1. What is primary source and what is secondary source?Primary sourcesSecondary sourcesThe writings of the people _The writings of the people_2. What is the main idea of the passage?The passage mainly tells what the _ and _ _are and the _of using the two sources to find the _ of what happened. They will have more opinions than facts.(Focus: Get the students to practice what they have just learnt to check whether they understand the passage or not.)Task 2 Watch a piece of news and identify each paragraph belongs to which source. (3minutes) (Focus: To provide one more chance to let the students fully understand what primary sources and secondary sources are.)Task 3 Learn to write one-sentence news. (8minutes)1. Use one-sentence news to report the news the students have just watched.Cheng Mingjia and Jeffery Ju were interviewed by the CCTV reporter luckily on July 5th,2012 in Beijing because of their contributions to the environmental protection.(Focus: To practice students ability of using simple and precise words and sentences to write the news. This step is also used to make good preparations for Task 4 )Task 4. Role play (10minutes) Jay chou will hold a concert on Dec. 20, 2012 in Shen Zhen Bay Stadium because of the demands of the fans.Work in groups of four and use primary sources and secondary sources to report the celebration.
