They want to buy a bigger one. They are talking about it.Mr Wang:Our flat is too small. Its only 42 square metres. We need to buy a bigger one. What do you think, Li Ping?Mrs Wang: I think so, too. We need a larger sitting room and two bedrooms. The bedrooms must face south.Wang Qiang:I agree with you, Mum. And we should have a study, too.Mr Wang: Well, I think public transport is more important. Id like our new home to be near bus stops, an underground station or a light rail station.Mrs Wang: Me, too. But I think shopping is the most important. We should choose a place near supermarkets or shopping malls.Wang Qiang: Great. And Id like a flat in a high-rise, so we can have a better view.Mr Wang: Well, there are many new high-rises around here. I think we can all go and have a look at them this weekend.7AU1L1阅读7AU1L1阅读7AU1L1阅读The Whites used to live in a small house in the suburbs. They bought a new house six months ago. It is in the centre of town. It is the largest house in their housing estate, and the public transport is very convenient. There is a light rail station and a few bus stops near it. They are going to move in this weekend.Today is Saturday. There is a lot of work for everyone. Mother is getting all the clothes together. Jack is packing books. He is putting them into boxes. Father is looking for his things. He is asking Mum, “Wheres my blue jacket?” “Maybe its in a bag, Im not sure,” Mother says. Jack is clever. He first wrote out the names of the books on a piece of paper, and then stuck the piece of paper onto each box. So he knows all his books are in one big box. Five years ago she went to live in her hometown in Zhejiang Province. She loves country life. She often says, “The air in the country is fresher. The rivers there are clearer.” Last Friday, Aunt Yu came back to Shanghai for my grandmothers birthday. She was very happy to see the changes around our housing estate. The street in front of our house used to be narrow. Now it is wider. There used to be a small shop beside our house. Now there is a supermarket. There are more cars in the streets. The cars are more beautiful. They are faster, too. The river behind our house is clearer. Aunt Yu almost lost her way. She could not find the old houses. She interviewed a few teachers and scientists. This is part of her project. What Good Are Trees?March 12 is Tree Planting Day. On that day every year, people, men and women, young and old, plant a lot of trees. What good are trees? They make streets and housing estates more beautiful and quieter. They make the air cleaner and cooler. You probably(可能) didnt know that three trees can do the job of fifteen air conditioners. Trees can also give us fruit. Oranges, bananas, apples, pears and kiwi fruit all come from trees. There is wood in our pencils, and paper in our books - all from trees. But some people do not know the importance of trees. It has an area of 120 square metres with three bedrooms, a sitting room, a kitchen and a bathroom. It is farther from my school than my old flat, but it takes only 15 minutes by underground. Besides(此外),around our housing estate, there is a shopping mall, a hospital and an underground station. Life there is much easier.I still live in a small flat in the centre of town. It has an area of only 40 square metres. We share a kitchen and a toilet with two other families. Next year, we are going to move to a bigger flat with 100 square metres. It is in the suburbs.
