Unit 10 What kind of noodles would you like?Section A 河北省石家庄市第十七中学 白慧霞 Teaching goals:1. Knowledge objects:A: master the key words, like “would, noodle, beef, mutton, cabbage, potato, special, drink, large, medium, small, size, bowl” and so on. B: key sentences: What kind of noodles would you like? What size bowl of noodles would you like? C: master the sample dialogule between the waiter and the customer2 Ability objects: improve their listening, speaking skills and ability of cooperation , competition and communication3 Moral objects: Never water food! Eat happily and healthily! Analysis of Teaching materials andCharacteristics of students: This unit is to make students master how to act in the restaurant. The students have learned some words of food before, and the basic sentence “what would you like” has been taught during their primary school. So I think the unit is easy for them and what they need is to enlarge their vocabulary, master the sample dialogue and role play even expand the dialogue. Teaching method and learning strategies: Because they like games, I would like to use the task-based teaching method to make them take an active part in the class. During the class, they would enjoy the feeling of cooperation and competition. New design: Make the whole class a big task. I has 4 sub tasks. And the textbook is used as the materials of the task so that the class is not divided, but a whole. Teaching process:Step 1 Leading in1. A video of Shaanxi mutton noodles from “ A bite of China” to attract students attention and stimulate appetite. It can also lead to the next question.2 introduce wordslarge, medium, and small Ask and answer: what size bowl of noodles would you like? I would like a _ bowl of noodles(chain drill)3 introduce other food in China: dumplings, steamed ban, pancakes. Pairwork: what would you like? I would like(revision)Step 2 introduction of the task1 introduction: a famouse noodle house will open in Shijiazhuang , and can let some VIP to eat freely for one year. But you must finish the 4 tasks below. Here we are 4 teams. Lets see which team can be the winner(competition)2 subtasks: memory-propogate-experience-innovationStep 3 task one(memory)1. Words of meat: mutton.What kind of meat would you like?2. Words of vegetables: carrotsWhat kind of vegetables would you like?.(1,2 focus on the countable or uncountable nouns)3. No ,there arent.Step 4 task two (propogate)1. Learn 3 specials: beef and tomato noodels, chicken and cabbage noodles, mutton and potato noodles2.
