And these days, they are talking about whether the kids should do chores or not?2. Show students some parents opinions. 设计意图:通过学生熟悉的QQ聊天软件引入话题,激发学生兴趣。Step 2 Discussion 2a. Discuss the questions with your partner1) What do you often do to help your parents at home?2) Do you think kids should help out with chores at home? Step 3. Skimming 2b. The Sunday Mail magazine invited parents to write about whether they think young people should do chores at home. Skim the following letters. Which one agrees and which one disagrees? 了解阅读策略: Skimming 意为“快速掠过,从中提取最容易取得的精华”。这种读法包含有原词的所有意思快速读过去,取出读物中关键性的东西。因此,我们可以把这种读法理解为快速浏览课文,领会文章大意。一般而言,通过标题可知道文章的主题。对文章的首段和末段要多加注意,以便发现作者的观点。 Check the answers in 2b. 教师呈现两封书信,粗略讲解书信的结构内容(topic sentence、 reasons、 conclusion)设计意图:直接呈现两封书信,让学生更直观具体的了解书信的结构,为后面的学习奠定基础。Step 5 Skim the letters and answer the questions. 1) What is Ms. Millers opinion? 2) What is Mr. Smiths opinion?设计意图:快速浏览两封书信,找出两位家长的主要想法,培养学生的快速捕捉主要信息的能力。Step 6 Reading the first letter and answer the questions:1.
