Analysis of the Teaching Material(人教版PEP教材) The topic of this unit centers on department offices, including the nouns and some key sentence patterns. The major part is about the words of department offices and two useful expressions. The students will learn how to clarify different pictures of department offices in accordance with the words. Besides, they can learn how to look for department offices in school. Furthermore, they will be aware of the comfortable study condition where they are in. Meanwhile, their awareness of loving school will be improved. Language study includes some useful words and expressions.2. Analysis of the Students The students know basic department offices, such as: teachers office, library and so on. Meanwhile, they can use “first floor, second floor” to indicate the position of a department office. They can also use the sentence pattern “Do you have a?” The basic knowledge they have forms a good foundation for the learning of this lesson. 3. Teaching Aims and DemandsA. Knowledge(1). The students learn phonetics, writing of the terms of different kinds of department office, such as: computer room, art room, music room, and so on.(2). The students can understand the new words when they listen to them.(3). The students are aware of the topic about “department office”.B. Ability(1).The students learn how to pronounce new words by using the phonetic rules.(2). The students learn to use the key words and expressions to look for department offices in a school.(3). The students learn to use the expressions to ask classmates about their dream school. C. Feelings and Attitudes(1)The students will show their sympathy to the poor students in the rural area.(2) The students will cherish the life they have now.D. Learning strategies(1)The students will know how to work in a group and cooperate with others.(2) The students will know how to read new words by using basic knowledge of phonics.(3)The students will be able to use the knowledge they learnt vigorous ly.3. Important Point of Teaching Teach the students to learn some new words and expressions, sentence patterns, such as : computer room, art room, music room, playground.4. Difficult Point of Teaching Develop their ability to read new words by using basic knowledge of phonics.5. Teaching Aids Multimedia devices and PPT.6. Teaching Methods(1)Situational Teaching Method. Teacher forms a situation for the students to communicate in a certain situation. (2)Communicative approach. Teacher guides the students to communicate with others by using the words and sentences. (3)Task-based language teaching. Teacher sets some tasks for students to finish, students can learn knowledge by accomplishing their tasks.(4)Cooperating study. Teacher guides students to work in a group and cooperate with others.7. Teaching ProceduresStep1: Lead-in (3mins)Teacher shows students a video. Its a song. Teacher sings the song with students.Goal: To arouse the students interest in learning this unit and enable them to realize the topic of this unit.Step2: Presentation (22mins)(1)Answer question. (3mins)Ask students the question after they see the pictures.T: What can you see?S: Many pictures.T: We should call it “art room”.(2)Vocabulary. Analyze the phonetic rules in new words and teach students the useful words and expressions, sentence patterns.(10mins) a. art room, 美术教室。b. music room 音乐教室。 c. computer room, 微机教室。d. playground 操场。Teacher guides students to match the words with pictures of the new words.Teacher uses a game to help students consolidate their knowledge of the phonetic rules in the new words.(3)Presentation of dialogue (3mins)A: Do you have a music room?B: Yes, we do. Its on the first floor.Goal: Enable students to comprehend the dialogue. (4)Sing a song. The lyrics are the key sentences of this lesson. (6mins)Goal: Enable students to comprehend the dialogue in an easier way. Step3: Practice(6mins)Let students work in groups to design their dream school and practice the dialogue.Goal: Guide the students to use the key sentence patterns .Step4: Production (4mins)Teacher shows students the way to ask another group about their dream school.Goal: Let students consolidate the useful words and expressions.Step5: Summary and homework (5mins)1. Let the students realize the poor condition of school in rural area and cherish the life, love our school.2. Write the new words for three times and introduce our school to your family members.Goal: Let students review the useful words and knowledge about department offices in a school.8.
