This is the new tense we are going to learn, that is the past progressive tense. It is similar to the present progressive tense but its a different concept. Lets have more comparisons. Please look at the first picture. What is this boy doing now? Yes, he is playing soccer. Then, lets put the time back to 4:00 pm yesterday. What was the boy doing at 4 oclock yesterday afternoon? Yes, this time we say he was playing soccer. Lets look at the other pictures.Now we can summarize the differences between the present progressive tense and the past progressive sense.现在进行时过去进行时含义:表示现在正在进行的动作结构:is/am/are+doing例句:I am swimming.含义:表示过去某个时刻或者一段时间正在进行的动作结构:was/were+doing例句:I was swimming.Step 4 PracticeT: Now lets have a game.
