Modal verbs could and shouldWhy dont you ?2.conjunctions until, so that and although【教学方法】Listening practice,pairwork and role-play.【课前准备】PPT 课件 【课时安排】一课时【教学过程】Step1 Warming- up and revision .1.Traslate the following phrases:1)get enough sleep 2)hang out 3)get into a fight 4)after-school class2. Look at the picture, and answer: Whats wrong with Peter?Step 2 Work on 2a. 2b. 2c. 1.2a.T: Peter has some problems. What advice does his friend give him? Fill in the blanks with could or should. Let Ss read the sentences in 2a. Play the recording for the Ss to listen and write the words in the blank. Play the recording again to check the answers.Then let Ss read after it.T: Peters friend give him some advice, but he doesnt like their advice.Why doesnt Peter like his friends advice? 2.2b.Let Ss read the sentences below. Explain some main sentences for the Ss. Make sure they know the meaning of each sentence. Play the recording for the Ss to write the letters (a-e) next to the advice in 2a. Play the recording again to check the answers. Then perform role play and Listen again and fill in the blanks.3. 2c. Ss practice the conversations in pairs.Then act in class.Step 3 Role-play 1.First watch videos in 2d then read the conversation carefully and find out Kims problem and Daves advice. 1)Who was Kim angry with?2)What did Kims sister do?3)What should Kim do? 2. Read the conversation after it. 3. Practice the conversation with their partner. Then let some pairs to act out the conversation. Step 4 Language points 1. I guess you could tell her to say sorry.guess v. 猜测;估计e.g. Let us guess the height of the building. 让我们来猜一下这个建筑物的高度。 Can you guess his age? 你能猜出他的年龄吗?2. Although shes wrong, its not a big deal. big deal是英语中的一个固定搭配,表示 “重要的事情或状况”,多用于非正式交流。作否定用法时,常说Its not a big deal或Its no big deal.表示说话人并不认为某事有什么了不起。e.g. Theres a soccer game on TV this evening but I dont have to watch it. Its no big dea今天晚上电视上有一场足球赛, 但我不一定要看。没什么大不了的。Its a big deal, David, bigger than you know. 这事挺重要的,戴维,比你所知道的要重要。Whats the big deal? Its only a birthday, not the end of the world. 有什么了不起的?这不过是个生日,又不是世界某日。3.
