T: Today is Thursday. Mike has a birthday party tonight. He invites all of his classmates to come to the party. Will you go to the party? Why?2. T: What will happen if he has a party tonight?3. T: What should Mike do? When is a good time to have the party?4. T: You are good at giving advice. What food will Mike prepare if he organizes the party? 5. T:What should he do if he makes the party more interesting?1. Students show their ideas if they will go to the party and give reasons.2. Show the results:If Mike has a party tonight, half the class wont go.If half the class dont go to the party, Mike will be upset.3. Help Mike. Students give their advice (teach the new word) about when and where to have the party. Like: I think Mike can have the party tomorrow night. If he does that, most of us will go and have a great time. 4. Students give their ideas for the food (shop-bought food, home- made food, restaurant-ordered food) and give the reasons.And learn the new words: “chips, chocolate”5. Help Mike solve the task. (Make sentences with the pictures)通过不同形式的练习操练,既巩固if条件句的学习,也通过对Mike 的帮助,再次让学生的情感得到感悟.Step 7 Chain storyDo chain-practice.Give them two topics to choose.Topic 1: study hardTopic 2: play computer gamesStudents can choose one topic to tell a story. The more, the better.Begin like this: If I study hard tonight, my parents will be happy. If my parents are happy, 故事接龙的设计既充分发挥学生的想象力,也很好地活跃课堂气氛,同时充分地复习了本课的if条件句。Step 8 WringWork on 3b.T: Life is always beautiful. But if we are lazy to face it, it will also make us be in trouble.1. Students complete the sentences using their own ideas and form a passage. Add the beginning and ending.2. Share their ideas.3. Enjoy a poem “If you have problems”把简单的单句造句变成完整的一篇作文,让学生在生活情境中,不仅巩固语法结构,也很好地体现了“词句篇章”的语言学习。而且首尾句的添加让简单的句子变得更丰满,情感更升华。诗歌形式也更呼应了本课的目标。Step9 Homework: Try to write a reply to Tina.
