What could I do while you fish?M: Would you rather go somewhere with some shops?W: Yes, I would really.M: Well, how about Northern Tenerife. It says “very beautiful with flowers and forests”W: Oh, yes.M: and it has an old town with several marketsW: So I could go shopping M: But the weathers not very good in the afternoon.W: Thats all right. During a heavy rainfall last night, a bus carrying 42 passengers went out of control on Highway 28, killing the driver and 36 of passengers. A spokesman for the Highway Police who arrived at the scene shortly after 11:30 p.m. said that the accident had occurred about half an hour earlier. The policemen carried the injured and the dead to the nearest town. The highway has many bends at the point where the accident occurred. The cause of the accident has not been fully determined.听第3段材料,回答第12至15题。W: Now, Tony, what do you like best about being a football star?M: Well. I love to hear the cheering when Im playing, especially when I score a goal. And, of course, the pay is good.W: Do you get nervous?M: Before the game, yes, but not during it.W: Can you tell us something about your training?M: Well, we train very hard, especially before a big game. The team has to stay together on the road - sometimes for weeks - and I find it very boring.W: Are you worried about tomorrows game?M: No. Even if we lose well probably still get the cup. You see, weve scored more goals than Northern City, so theyll have to win by at least four goals if they want the cup. I dont think they can do it.W: Thank you, Tony, and good luck tomorrow.第三节 听录音并记录信息。一个人正在介绍大脑研究的情况。 听录音,根据录音内容,将下面的信息补充完整。(提示:每空不得超过三个词。) During the 19th century scientists thought that each part of the brain does a different job. But modern research has found out that this is not so, for it is easy to say exactly what each part of the brain does. In the past fifty years there has been a great increase in the amount of research done on the brain. Scientists have discovered that the way the brain works is not so simple as people may think. Chemists tell us that 1000,000 chemical changes take place in the brain every second. Some recent researches also suggest that we can remember everything that happens to us. We may not be able to think back the things weve heard and seen, but it is all kept there in the storehouse of the human mind. Earlier scientists thought that power of ones brain got weaker and weaker as one grew older. But it is now thought that is not true. As long as the brain is given plenty of exercise it keeps its power. It has been proved that an old person who has always been active in the mind has a quicker mind than a young person who has only done physical work without using much of his brain. It is now thought that the more work we give our brains, the more work they are able to do.第四节 听录音并简答。你将听到一段关于学校介绍的会议发言。请根据录音内容,简答下列各题。Ladies and Gentlemen:Welcome to our school. Our school is called a “free school”. This means that the pupils are free to choose what and how they want to learn. The school opens at 9:00 a.m. Between nine and ten most people are in the living room and the kitchen downstairs. This is a time when children and teachers can work out what they are going to do for the day.Now if you look through the door of that big room you will see those children reading and drawing there. Some have chosen to do maths. Four of the older boys are now on their way to the Cardrome to have their driving lessons. Several children are in the kitchen helping Miss Cabell with lunch. The children take turns doing this. They all enjoy doing it.
