Unit 4 Why dont you talk to your parents?Section A 1a-1c1 Analysis of material: The first part in this unit is Section A (1a-1c). The topic of this part is about giving advice. In this part, students will learn how to talk about problems and give advice.And this part intends to cultivate students interest in develop the ability of communication.二. Teaching objectives:1. Knowledge objectives: Be able to master the key words and expressions: allow, wrong; study too much, too much homework, hang out with my friends, too many after-school classes, got into a fight with my best friend; Whats wrong?2. Ability objectives: Be able to give advice by using the sentence patterns: Why dont you do.? You could. You should.3. Emotion objectives: Be able to find ways to solve the problem, not be afraid of problems.三Teaching key & difficult points: 1.Teaching key points: 1) Master the key words and sentence patterns. 2) Learn how to talk about problems and give advice.2. Teaching difficult point: Improve students ability of communication and integrating skills.4 Teaching aids: A tape recorder and an English textbook.5 Teaching methods: Multimedia method and communicative method.6 Teaching procedures: Step1 Lead-in 1. Greet the class as usual and play a game “Bumble bee” with them. 2. Free talk: T: I have a headache and I have a cough. What should I do or what can I do? Can you give me some advice? S1: You should go to the doctor. S2: you can lie down and have a rest. T: Look at the picture. The girl is unhappy. Whats the matter/ Whats wrong with her? S: Maybe she has some problems. T: If you have problems, why dont you talk to your parents? Today we will discuss this topic. Look at the title of unit 4 and read it together.Step2 Presentation1. Guessing game: Show the pictures and lead students to guess the problems of 1a one by one.I have to study too much so I dont get enough sleep.I have too much homework so I dont have any free time to do things I like.My parents dont allow me to hang out with my friends.I have too many after-school classes.I got into a fight with my best friend. Ask students to pay attention to the problems in red and write them down on the blackboard. Then read the sentences together, and explain the usage of word and phrases: so, allow, too much, too many and much too.2. Teach activity 1a: Look at these problems. Do you think they are serious or not? Write them in the appropriate box.3. Pairwork: Give them some examples to lead them how to give advice. Then let them work in pairs to give advice for each problem in 1a.Step 3 Practice1.Teach activity 1b: Play the recording for the first time. Students listen and circle the problems they hear in 1a. Then play the recording a second time and check their answers. Ask them to read the listening material and underline the sentences about giving advice. Then summarize some structures of giving advice for them.2.Teach activity 1c: Look at the problems in 1a and make conversations. A: Whats wrong? B: Im really tied because I studied until midnight last night. A: Why dont you go to sleep earlier this evening?Step 4 Consolidation Groupwork: Present a QQ chat about talking about problems and giving advice.
