人教版八年级(上)Unit 1 How often do you exercise ?(Period one)说 课 稿By Liu GuobingDistinguished judges & experts,Good morning!Today, it is my great honor and pleasure to have this opportunity to share some of my teaching ideas with you.The topic I m going to talk about today is taken from PEP junior middle school English for Grade 8,Book 1, that is, “Unit 1 How often do you exercise ?”. And today Id like to say the lesson from 7 parts:Part 1 The analysis of the teaching materials.First, the status and function of the teaching materials.This is the 1st period of this unit, it will lay foundation to the learning of the following lessons even the whole book. It will help improve the Ss comprehensive learning abilities, which is of great importance to the Ss English learning.Second, the teaching aims. 1. Knowledge aims:(1)Vocabulary:how often, exercise, skateboard, hardly ever, shop, once, twice, time, surf, Internet, program.(2)Sentences:. What do you usually do on weekends? I usually play soccer. What does she do on weekends? She often goes shopping. . How often do you exercise? . I exercise every day/once a week. I hardly ever exercise. . How often does Cheng watch TV? / He watches TV three times a week. 2. Ability aims:Enable the Ss to talk about their out-of-class activities and how often they do them.3. Emotional aims:(1) Develop the Ss spirit of enjoying learning English and help the Ss experience the happiness of finishing the tasks by the use of English language through their participation, cooperation, communication and practice.(2)Guide the Ss to live a healthy life.Third, the teaching key points and difficult points.1. Teaching key points:What do you usually do on weekends? / I often go to the movies.2. Teaching difficult points:The usage of the verb forms in the third person singular in the sentences.Part 2 The analysis of the teaching methods & the students learning strategies.The Ss have learned English for at least 4 years. They can understand some words and simple sentences. They are curious, active, and fond of games, competitions and various kinds of activities. They enjoy learning English through cooperation and acting in a relaxing atmosphere. So in this lesson, my teaching methods consist of audio-visual teaching method(音像教学法), communicative teaching method(交际教学法), inspiring assessment(激励性评价), situational teaching method(情境教学法), classified teaching method(分层教学法) and task-based teaching method(任务型教学法).In a word, I want to make the Ss the real masters in class while the teacher himself acts as a director. I d like to help the Ss to master the key structures through “Observation, Imitation, Practice” and know how to communicate with others with what they have learned in class. I also hope to combine the language structures with the language functions and let the students receive some moral education while they are learning the English language.Part 3 The analysis of the teaching aids.A computer, a blackboard, a tape recorder, a projector.As we know that its necessary for our teachers to use modern teaching facilities. Its of great help to increase the class density and improve our teaching results. It can also make the Ss reach a better understanding of the text by making the classes be lively, direct, and interesting, which can arouse the Ss interest in learning English.Part 4 The analysis of the teaching procedures.Step1 Warming-up and leading in. 1. Play an English song to create a relaxing atmosphere, and arouse their interest of learning English. Then the teacher divides the Ss into Two groups, which is for a group competition. Any one who answer a question will be given a STAR, if the answer is right, he/she will be given two STARS, which will also be recorded to the group he/she belongs to.2. Greet to the Ss and write the title of the unit on the blackboard to attract the Ss attention to the class.3. Repeat the topic and guide the Ss to understand the meaning of the word “exercise” by asking the question “Do you know the meaning of exercise?” Then ask the Ss “Do you often exercise? / What kind of exercise do you often do? / What do you often do on weekends?”Step2 Presentation. 1. Show a picture of “skateboard” on the projector, and help the Ss read it together. The teacher helps the Ss to know the other activities in the same way. purpose:This will help the Ss solve the problem of the new words and phrases, and calm down their nervous mood, which is also the preparation for Part 1a.2. The teacher asks the Ss to open their textbooks and turn to page 1. Look at the picture. Guess what are the children doing? Ask the Ss to make a list of the different weekend activities and fill in the blanks in 1a. And they can discuss with their desk mates. The teacher checks the answers. And the Ss will be given two STARS if he/she got a right answer. And the group he/she belongs to will also be given two STARS. Then the two groups will compete with each other. purpose:The Ss can enjoy the happiness of learning English through cooperation, discussion and acting in a relaxing atmosphere. Besides, the teacher uses the inspiring assessment and competition method to increase the Ss interest of learning English.3. Then the teacher ask the question to the girls “Do you often go shopping, girls?” Then ask the boys: “What about boys? So you hardly ever go shopping, right?” (The teacher shows the phrase “hardly ever” in the screen .) Let the Ss look at Part 1b, ask some Ss to read them and tell the teacher the meaning of each word. The teacher shows them on the screen: always总是,一直;usually通常;often经常;sometimes有时;hardly ever几乎从不;never从不。purpose:The teacher uses the communicative teaching method(交际教学法)to improve the Ss comprehensive English abilities. And this activity help the Ss be ready for the next listening Part 1b. 4. Listen to the tape and write the letters from the picture above on the lines below.(那么我们将要听录音,将上面图片中代表各个活动的字母a-e写在这些频率副词旁的横线上。)For example, if you hear I usually go shopping, you should write down a after usually.(如果你听到了“我常常去购物”, 那你就应该在usually后面的横线上写a. 明白了吗?) Lets begin!(播放录音)purpose:Giving the Ss some instructions before listening will help most of the Ss get a more effective listening practice.5. The teacher checks the answers. And the Ss will be given two STARS if he/she got a right answer. And the group he/she belongs to will also be given two STARS.purpose:This will improve the Ss listening ability.6. Lets look at 1c. Ask two Ss to read the sample conversation. Each will get two STARS. purpose:This is a role play, so it will greatly increase the Ss interest of participation, as a result, the learning of the key sentence will be very effective. 7. Lets look at the picture again. The teacher points at picture (a) and ask the Ss “What does the girl often do on weekends?” purpose:In this activity, the teacher himself acts as a director, he helps all the Ss to undertake the key sentence.Step3 Practice and consolidation. 1. Work in pairs and talk about the activities they do on weekends. (下面请同学们两人一组,谈论图片中的人物周末进行哪些活动。)Ask several pairs to have a talk show. And the Ss will be given two STARS. And the group he/she belongs to will also be given two STARS. purpose:This is a pair work, so the Ss can enjoy the happiness of learning through cooperation, discussion and showing in a relaxing atmosphere. 2.Ask one student “Do you watch TV? / How often do you watch TV?” The teacher explains:当我们回答活动频率的时候,我们需要用到“次数”这个单词“time”.(Show the frequency words on the screen.)Once 一次;twice 两次;三次three times;以此类推。Read after me. once a week一周一次;twice a week一周两次;three times a week一周三次;once a month 每月一次;twice a month每月两次。3. Ask the Ss to Listen to 2a. Introduce: Cheng is talking about how often he does different activities. Number the activities you hear 1-5.(播放听力录音2a)4. Listen again. Match the activities with the number of times he does them. Then the teacher checks the answers. And the Ss will be given two STARS if he/she got a right answer. And the group he/she belongs to will also get two STARS.5. Fill in the chart at 2c, and then ask the Ss to make conversations with
