Know more about pandas and animal protection。Learn to use numbers and facts in expository writing (说明文)教学过程学生活动Step1: GreetingStep2: Free talk:First Ss. enjoy a piece of video about the interesting pandas. Then T. makes Ss.think Q:What do you know about pandas?Purpose: Presentation of pictures and video can arouse Ss more interests on the lesson and serve more information about the topic, which can lay the foundation of following teaching. Free talk provides Ss. chances to practice spoken English.Step 3While-reading Skimming (Self learning) T:How many paragraphs can you see?T: Can you divide the passage into three parts?Task 1-Ss.match each part with the main idea after reading the whole passage.Part1 the reasons for fewer pandasPart2 the ways of saving pandasPart3 the normal life of pandas Purpose: This part aims to help Ss. catch the main idea of the whole passage by the reading skillskimming. Besides, I make Ss. finish the task by themselves, which can promote their ability of self learning.Task 2 part1:Scanning: Para1 follow the time line,and answer the questions. 1 What do baby pandas have for breakfast?2 How do they feel when they see the keepers?3 What happens when they see the keepers?Explain three phrases run over ,walk into and fall over.
