Teaching designModule 3 The Violence of NatureReading & Speaking教学设计一、 教案背景1、面向学生: 高一 2、学科: 英语3、课型:Reading & Speaking 4、课时:1课时(40分钟)二、 教学课题外研社必修3 Module 3 The Violence of Nature三、 教材分析【教材解读】:本模块以自然灾害及其危害为话题,要求学生读懂、听懂来自教材和其他资源的描述自然灾害的文章并学会描述自然灾害,激发学生学好科学文化知识、做好与自然灾害作斗争的准备,为人类发展作出贡献。 本课通过读和说的活动帮助学生读懂并学会描述自然灾害爆发的时间、地点、情形、经过、结果及造成的危害和损失;帮助学生学习并归纳描述自然灾害的词汇、短语及表达方式;培养学生浏览、略读、查读和细节查找的阅读技能;给学生提供表达和展示的机会,培养学生观察事件经过、归纳事实和学会表达的认知策略和调控策略;激发学生学习文化知识,为人类造福的情感意识。【三维目标】语言知识:Learn words, phrases and expressions to describe a natural disaster/event语言技能:Learn and understand passages about natural disasters/events Learn to describe a natural disaster/event logically and vividly.学习策略:浏览、查读、细节查找、观察、归纳的认知策略和调控策略情感态度:了解自然灾害,学好文化知识,为人类造福【教学重难点】1. Q: Can you describe the hurricane and damages of the flood in your own words?2. Call back the answers from the whole class on the blackboard.1. Watch the two short videos. 2. Students try to describe the short videos freely, using as many words and expressions as they can.用视频短片激起学生的学习兴趣,调动全班学生的学习积极性。头脑风暴,激活学生的词汇记忆库;复习本单元词汇,培养学生观察事件过程的调控策略;激发学习热情。阅读任务Reading taskBefore reading (guessing game): Tell the students we are going to read two short passages about a hurricane and a flood. Guess what the author have seen in the natural disasters.Reading: Tell the students to read the two passages and guess their guessing.After reading: Activity 1: Answer the following questions according to the information in the passages.1. When and where did the hurricane take place?2. What did the author do when the hurricane took place?3. What did the author see about the flood?4.
