Unit 4 Why dont you talk to your parents?The first period(Section A 1a-2d)一、教学目标:1. 知识与技能:1) 能掌握以下单词:allow, wrong, guess, look through ,deal, big deal, work out 能掌握以下句型: Whats wrong? Im really tried because I studied until midnight last night. You could give him a ticket to a ball game. I think you should ask your parents for some money. Why dont you talk to him about it?2) 能了解以下语法: (1)能够运用所学知识谈论问题和困难、提出建议并做出选择;(2)能根据对方所提出的问题,给出一些合理的建议。2.过程与方法 1.情景教学法,赋予知识和技能训练以真实的情景和语境,调动学生的参与热情。2.听说读写综合训练,培养语言运用能力。3.知识导入和任务设计由浅入深、由易到难、循序渐进、逐层拓展。4.采用多媒体教学手段,增强直观性和趣味性,加大课堂容量。3情感态度价值观目标: 培养学生良好的合作意识,鼓励学生大胆表达自己的想法和意愿。正确认识生活中的一些困难,能采用正确的方式解决生活中的问题。二、教学重难点1. 教学重点:1) Talk about the problems and give advice.2) Learn the new phrases.2. 教学难点:能根据对方所提出的问题,给出一些合理的建议。学会表达建议的一些方式。三、教学过程Step 1 Warming up1.Look at the picture about a little boy. The boy is not happy.T: Whats the matter with the boy/ Whats wrong with the boy?S: He has too much homework to do. Step 2 Talking1. Look at these problems. Do you think they are serious or not? I have to study too much so I dont get enough sleep. I have too much homework so I dont have any free time to do things I like. My parents dont allow me to hang out with my friends. I have too many after-school classes. I got into a fight with my best friend.2. Ss read these problems in 1a by themselves. Then translate the phrases in the sentenses. Game “Lets guess!”why is the boy so lonely? Ss guess His parents dont allow him to hang out with his friends. etc. Sum up “allow sb to do sth”.Write it on the blackboard.3.Check if Ss memerize these problems by looking at the pictures.Step 3 Listening 1. Play the recording for the Ss to listen and circle the problems you hear in 1a.Check the answers with the Ss.Step 4 discussingRead the sentences on the screen , learn to give advice. Use” why dont you do sth ? why not do sth?”get a few Ss to show their resultsT sum up the ways to give advice. Write them on the blackboard.Why dont you do sth?Why not do sth?Could /should do sthLets do sth.How about /what about doing sth?Step5 Pair work 1. Let Ss read the conversation in the box. 2. Use the information in 1a to make other conversations.3. Let some pairs act out their conversations. e.g. A: Whats wrong? B: Im really tied because I studied until midnight last night.A: Why dont you go to sleep earlier this evening? Step 6 Listening Work on 2a:T: Peter has some problems. What advice does his friend give him? Fill in the blanks with could or should. 1. Play the recording for the Ss to listen and write the words in the blank.2. Read the sentences to check the answers. Work on 2b:1. Let Ss read the sentences below. Explain some main sentences for the Ss. Make sure they know the meaning of each sentence.2. Play the recording for the Ss to write the letters (a-e) next to the advice in 2a. Answers: 1. d 2. e 3. a 4. c 5. bListen again. Fill in the blanks.Boy 2 had a _ with his best friend. Ask some groupss to act out their conversationsStep8 Role-play 1. Ss read the conversations and try to understand the meaning. Then find out Kims problems and DaveadviceT teaches Ss “ We should work out problems by learning to forget.2. Read the conversation again and the answers. Find out the phrases.3. Pactice the phrase
