Boys and girls. This class we will learn how to describe peoples looks. First lets go over what we have learned in the last unit. Whats the weather like today? / How is the weather today?S: Its sunny / cloudy .T: How are you?S: Im fine,thanks.T: What are you doing?S: Im .T: Can you describe my looks? I am thin, I have long curly hair.T: Now look at the following pictures and talk about what they look like. Show the pictures, and help the students to say. Picture 1 Picture 2 Picture 3 Picture 4S1: In Picture 1 the girl has short hair.S2: In Picture 2 the girl has long hair.S3: In Picture 3 the girl has curly hair.S4: In Picture 4 the girl has straight hair.Write down the new words below each picture, then read: short, short hair, long hair, curly hair, straight hair.Step 2 Mind storm. Students remember these words. Give them one minute. Then hands up and answer.Step 3 Ask the students to make some conversations.T: Now please make a conversation with your partner. You can use the sentence What does he /she look like?He / She has .Sample conversations:1) S1: What does he look like?S2: He has short hair.2) S3: What does she look like?S4: She has long black hair.Step 4 look at the following pictures and talk about what they look like. She has very long hair.S3: What does he look like?S4: He is short, and he has short hair.S5: What does she look like?S6: She is thin, and she has long straight hair.Step 7 Talking about the picture (1a)1. Ask the students to read the words and match them with the pictures in 1a.T: Read the words again and use the letters to match the people in the picture with one of the numbered words. Write each letter next to a numbered word. You can use some letters more than once.Check the answers. 2. Ask the students to talk about the picture in 1a. T: Now please look at the picture in 1a again. How many children can you see? What do they look like? Can you use the given words to describe them? Now first lets read the words together.Encourage or help the students to say something about the picture using the words.Sample sentences:S1: The girl numbered a has straight hair. I think she is of medium build. S2: The girl numbered f has curly hair. She is thin. S3: The old man numbered g is heavy. I think he has little hair.S4: The boy numbered e is medium height. I think he has straight hair. S5: The boy numbered d is tall and thin. He has curly hair. Step8 Show a picture to the students, describe the foreigners looks. Ask the students why he is very angry. To preview part 2 of Section AUnit 9 What does he look like?(Section A 1a-1c)教学设计普定县第二中学 陈云说课稿普定县第二中学 陈 云 本单元以Physical appearance为话题,本课时共设计了三个部分的内容。旨在通过教学使学生掌握一些描述人物外表的新词汇;学会询问并描述人的基本外貌特征;并继续学习一般现在时的用法。Section A(1a-1c)设计了3任务型活动。1a要求学生读图后将所给描述人物外表的词汇与相应图片配对;学习这些常用的描述人物外貌特征的词汇,为下面的训练提供语言材料;1b要求学生听录音并根据所获信息将描述Amys friend外表的词汇填在相应的横线上;1c要求学生在教师指导下,以pairwork的形式口头练习“询问及描述人物外表”的句型;本课时1a, 1b, 1c部分设计为一节“听说课。通过展现图片,请学生描述图片人物,学生只会用汉语,导入新课,本节课学习用英语描述人物外貌。一边看图片一边教新单词,同时操练新句型,整节课中贯穿活动,学生在不知不觉中学会应用语言。片段性的描述后,学生掌握单词熟练了,再把片段内容整合,用完整的语言描述人的头发,身高和体格。本节课的重难点迎刃而解。在听说读写方面得到锻炼和提高。展现图片,学会问他人的外貌,并能简单描述。小组活动,描述同桌,看谁描述得既流利又准确。小组比赛,获奖小组发给小奖品。教会学生在小组活动中积极与他人合作,互相
