Master the sentence structure: How do you study for a text? I study by working with a group. Process and methods: Through the reading material and the conversations, students should master the structure by+v-ing and the target language.Emotion attitude and value: Studying the right way to deal with problem is useful. It helps you get good grades in the school. Teaching important points:1. Master the new words. 2. Master the sentence structure.Teaching difficult points: Master the structure by+v-ing Teaching steps:Step1 leading in At first, let students see a picture about an embarrassed boy. He says he has difficulties in learning English. Use the picture to lead students to share their problems and write their problems on their mind maps.Step2 Presentation1. Teach activity1aShow five pictures and guide students to find out ways to learn English. Use sentences :We can learn English by+v-ing.Ask students to make a sentence by using the structure by+v-ing.2. Teach activity 1bPlay the tape and ask students to find out how Meiping, Peter and Tony study English. Ask students to pay attention to key words like “word cards”.3. Teach activity 1c.After teaching some many ways to learn English. It is students turn to discuss with their partners and make conversations about how they study for a test. The longer, the better.Give them four minutes to prepare and invite three pairs to present.Step3.Consolidation.a).Show a picture about an English club. Ask students about the advantages of joining an English club.b).Organize an interesting game.Consider the whole class as a big English club .and I divide all of students into two groups.c).Let students have a competition: Use the best ways to learn a English you have just learnt to fill in the mind map. At the same time, what kind of sentence pattern can be used to express your ways. The group which hands in more minds maps will be the winner.d). Announce the winner and invite the first pair to present their mind map. And write down the sentence patterns on the blackboard.Step4. Homework.After this lesson, students have the ability to try some ways to improve English. So their homework is writing a letter to the boy on the picture and give him some advice about learning English.Step5. Teaching reflection.In this lesson, I created many real situations and prepared colorful tasks. Then encourage students to use English actively in an easy atmosphere to finish their tasks. However, the proper use of some sentence patterns is very different. As for this problem, I organized pairwork and asked students to discuss with their partners to make their sentences more
