Warming up and leading in T :Before reading , Let us enjoy a song, then ask some questions, I remember Hong Kong returned to China in 1997. I remember Macao returned to China in 1999. Do you remember anything important in history? If you do,can you tell me? (Choose some students to tell some important events)T:Great! Today we are going to learn Do you remember what you were doing? In this article,we can learn about some important events in history.Step II. Learn how to use the new words and phrases in a storyStep III. Reading Strategy:Skimming(略读)(1) Reading the Title and the First Sentences (Work on 2a)T: One of the reading skills is to read the title of the passage this helps you understand the text. It is also a good idea to read the first sentence of each paragraph before you read the whole text.(2)The first reading(Work on 2b)T: Read the whole passage quickly and find the answers to the two questions.1. What are the two events in the passage?2. When did they happen?(3)The second reading(Work on 2c) T: Read thepassageagain and finish 2c.Read the statements and decide if they are true, false, or the information is not given.(4)The third reading(Work on 2d)T: Ok, after reading for two times, we have known the main idea of the passageNow, lets listen and try to finish 2d.Underline sentences from the passage with similar meanings to these sentences.Step IV. Intensive reading(精读)(The fourth reading)T: Letsread the passage paragraph by paragraphStep V. Examination1. 引导学生小结梳理知识框架、规律、方法,并对合作小组当堂学习情况进行总结评价,巩固学生所获得的语言知识和经验,让学生在评价中反思,在反思中进步。Ask one of the students to say what they have learnt.1)words & phrases 2) 过去进行时的构成和用法。Step VI. Homework1. Remember the words and phrases in this lesson.2. Finish the exercises in the workbook.3. Write about an event that you remember well.
