Unit 3 Could you please tell me where the restrooms are? Period 一(1a-1c)一、教学目标:1、通过听、写出本课重要短语和表示场所的名词。2、 初步学会运用 Could you please tell me where/how ?等句型礼貌地询问信息。3、 结合本课所学语言和内容,礼貌地寻求帮助并用正确的方法指路。二、学情分析三年级的学生经过两年多的英语学习,有了一定的英语基础知识和听、说、读 写的能力;经过两年多的新课程理念的熏陶及实践,有了初步的自主、合作、探究的能力。语言积累方面:学生以前学过一些与询问信息有关的内容,如七下Unit 2:Where is the post office ?及八上 Unit 4 How do you get to school ?这些都是直接地询问信息 ,但显得不够礼貌,在教学中可以由此引出如何礼貌地询问,便于学生接受。本节内容贴近学生生活,容易引发学生的兴趣。但是,由于农村中学学生学习英语起点低,大部分基础比较薄弱,因此,在学生使用所学目标语言时,教师要不断鼓励学生,让学生勇于参与、大胆实践,增强学生开口讲英语的自信心,从而进一步巩固所学知识,提高学生综合运用语言的能力。三、教学重难点:1、能熟练掌握本课时的词汇及短语。2、能熟练运用 Could you please tell me where/how?等句型礼貌地询问信息。四、教学过程:Step 一、 Warming up (1min)T: Hello, everyone. We have learned many words about places, can you think of them? Ss: Yes, library, school, restaurant, bank, post office, supermarket, police station (Revise the ones they know and teach the new ones they dont know:restroom, bookstore) T: Oh, good. You have a good memory.(Do you know what we can do in these places? )Step 二、 Guessing game:(3min)1、Show pictures to the whole class, guesses what place it is. For example : We can save money or exchange money in this place Ss guess: it is a bank. (Get students to guess the places like bank, post office(send mails or buy some stamps), bookstore (buy some books or dictionaries), museum, bathroom, washroom, mall(buy some clothes) and so on.) 2、Show some stamps to students and present the new sentences:Could you tell me where I can buy some stamps? Could you please tell me where I can get a dictionary? Do you know where I can get some magazines? (buy shampoo、 get some magazines、 make a telephone call、 get some information about the town、 buy some writing paper、 save money)Step 三、Lets come to 1a ( 6min)(A visitor is asking someone questions about things to do at certain places. Now look at the picture and match each thing with a place.Where to.? )1) Match each thing with a place in the picture in 1a. 2) Read the phrases. _ get some money _ get some magazines_ have dinner _ get a dictionary _ get some information about the town_ buy a newspaper _ buy some stamps _ get a pair of shoesCheck like this: Excuse me ,could you please tell me where I canYes/Sure. We can use the following expressions instead to ask for help.Excuse me , do you know where I can? Excuse me, could you tell me where I can?Excuse me, could you tell me how to(show the following structures on the screen) 3) practice T: By using these structures may sound very polite and I am sure he/she will tell you how you can get to the bank T:Will you have a try ? S: Could you tell me where I can get to the bank? T: Great, that sounds much better. Go along until you pass is on your right/left. A: Thanks. Do you know when opens/closes today? B: It opens/closes at today.2、Then talk about your own city.
