Period 1 (1a-1c).Teaching Goals1) Knowledge GoalsSs should have a full understanding of the target language structure and master some useful words such as table, bed, dresser, bookcase, sofa, chair, drawer, plant and so on. Students should also get more familiar with the useful expressions -“where the things are”. 2) Ability GoalsSs should learn to talk about “where the things are” and listen to the materials about “where the things are”. So the whole class is to improve the Ss ability of listening, speaking and communication. 3) Moral GoalsThrough learning this lesson, the Ss will improve their consciousness of cooperation and deepen their interest. Also can encourage students and others understand and care about their home environment, love their home, to develop good habits. Firstly, Ill ask them to prepare for books, a pencil and two pens. Then, we will review the plural form of nouns.Step II Presentation(1) Learn the new words according to the pictures. (2) Ask each group to read the new words to check if they have already mastered the new words.(3) All students read the words together. Step III Practice (1). Ask students to turn to page19 and ask “what can you see in the picture?”(2). Students answer my question.(3). Ask students to do the work on page19: match the words.(4). Students read the word on page 19 again.Step IV Presentation (1). Use the pencil case and the pen to teach the new words “on, in, under”.(2).
